  • L.A. Noire Preview - CVG has posted a preview of Rockstar and Team Bondi's upcoming action adventure game, L.A. Noire.
  • Test Drive Unlimited 2 Video Diary - Atari has released a developer diary for Test Drive Unlimited 2. The video walks fans through the thought process behind choosing the game's various locations. The game's producers also say the racer will push for a huge, open world where social and community elements will be highlighted. In addition, graphically Test Drive Unlimited 2 will feature dynamic weather affects like day-to-night cycles, rain, and more.  The Eden Games-developed simulation racer is due out February 2011.
  • Trainz Simulator 2010 DLC - N3V Games now offers digital distribution of Duchess, new DLC for Trainz Simulator 2010, their railroading zimulation
  • English Precursors and Xenus 2 Released - GamersGate now offers digital distribution of English editions of Precursors and Xenus 2 White Gold, a pair of games from Deep Shadows that previously were only translated to English through fan-created patches.
  • 8,800+ PS3 owners signed the Call of Duty Black Ops refund petition - In the five weeks since PS3 owners started a petition to demand a refund for Black Ops because it's a broken mess for many players, over 8,800 signatures have been posted. Lag, a lower resolution than the 360 version, host migration and frame rate issues are among the main complaints about the PS3 version.
  • Sony: PlayStation Network not profitable yet - Sony's Kaz 'Ridge Racer' Hirai recently spoke to Reuters Japan, where he slipped a bit of news on the Xbox Live competitor, the PlayStation Network. According to Hirai, the PSN is still not turning a profit, but is expected to do so next year.

@BO Petition. Yeah, I signed it because it is pretty lousy. I am not playing split screen or anything but it does seem the PS3 version is getting the backdoor treatment by them. Admittedly I have been playing on PC as I found a decent group of people online and we just play in our own private server.

These internet petitions have no value at all, nobody takes these serious, and definately not if they're served to pull even more money out of your wallet.

You have a better idea?

Petitions are a polite way of one informing and making others aware of an issue, and perhaps gaining support for that change or action... if they aren't taken seriously its because the threat of inaction is often not met with any consequences. Especially those that the target of petition is aimed at.. of course they aren't going to take it seriously, they'd also prefer it everyone just ignored that aswel... easier to ignore the voices that don't fit in line with their greed, ideologies, laziness, objectives, prejudice etc

Clearly in this case crApdivision has no interest in honoring the pleas of its customers who got conned and ripped off. Maybe the publisher felt the investment / effort of producing the game on the ps3 was the same amount of effort for the x360 and so the cost is the same, but you got less.. I'm sure plenty of other factors are involved.. none of which I agree would be good enough excusable reasons, especially when you look their past actions.

Still it's informing to those that take an interest and might influence others that take notice, only the weak minded will cave in and just dismiss the notice. In this case carry on buying/supporting a company that uses bad business tricks to sell (instead of being upfront honest etc.) My guess is that Sony itself hasn't gotten involved, noticing its on their gaming platform and portion of their customer base that has been short changed, is because of publisher is already in bed with a leading competitor and having a popular franchise (I think its shit now)...

Anyway petitions do work including internet ones, but its always up to the individual, whether they stand for basic principles, such as good business practices etc. I'm sure a lesson can be learnt, like not pre-ordering based on marketing babble claimed as fact, then later retracted.

Whatever it is, being forced to PAY to sign a petition is a weird way of petitioning.
So what will you do, return it to the shop and say "Aargh! it doesn't look as nice as on the XBlock, can I have my money back please ?"
