Stardock Recommends Switching to Windows 7 - tech
(hx) 11:29 AM CEST - Jun,18 2009 - Post a comment / read (4)
'It would be good if everybody switched to Windows 7 as quickly as possible,' Brad Wardell, CEO of Demigod publisher and Impulse operator Stardock, has said. Chatting with Gamasutra, Wardell feels that one of the big features of Windows 7 is Windows Advanced Rasterization Platform (WARP) which will allow a PC's CPU to handle some DirectX graphical features even if the PC has a poor gaphics card or no dedicated graphics card installed. Wardell feels that feature will allow lots of games to be played on low end machines: 'We want the game to look incredible on high-end systems, but I want people to be able to play this on their three-year-old laptop on the airplane.'

maybe they should just stfu.. telling people to upgrade to some Vis7a because of some WARPed bullshit.. Vis7a already makes the CPU handle more tasks than XP ever did..and for little fucking benefit aswel I might add. What was once handled by dedicated hardware like audio cards now passes through the CPU completely nullifying most the benefit of that audio card. And this idiot is recommending 7 because people with already old computers need to use 7 because there crap gfx card doesn't matter... they can have win7 do directx tasks through the CPU..yeah bet that'll be fucking worth playing a game with.. the whole point of that feature was too allow more basic shit like that ugly of dog shit Vista Aero theme with its overused transparency areas to run on computers without good gfx hardware.. not for fucking gaming! And so if that was his only fucking recommendation for Win7 its done for.. besides this coming from a developer who made demigod I think i'll just ignore him.

Mircosoft should go back and actually deliver on some worthy improvements to the OS.. it seems they've develivered SHITE once again. And only improved on the shite it was already based on aka Visteer.. so that ain't saying much. taskbar/search/themes/EXPLORER all shit areas they've seemed to have done crap job on again. And that's worth upgrading to 7 for? -pile of shit

Hi Koogle... do your ever heard of anger managment?

doodah(08:50 PM CEST - Jun,18 2009 )
Probably hasn't :)

Leave him be on his 8 year old OS with 3.5Gb RAM. Unless he's one of the real frothy mouth brigade still on Win2k..?

Perhaps one day he'll actually try Win7 and see it's actually pretty damn good!

ofc I've tried win7 various builds actually.. but alas its a OS designed for noobs, most the design/layout ui/ux changes and lack of decent improvements come from the targeting it for noobs.. there are barely any decent workflow improvements or worse sideeffects and most decent things have been broken.. in return for shit made by microsoft. And only an idiot would say "it's actually pretty damn good!" lol make laugh why don't you.. what would you know.. you probably thought Vista was brilliant to

the only thing that makes any OS worth using are the apps developed for it.. until Win7 has the right improvements made for it, I'll never waste my time using that defaulty shit..leave that for the noobs like you. And all the right improvements won't come from Microsoft it will come from developers outside of MS campus...so give that some time for win7 to get even those improvements//. no rush everyone still develops for XP aswel because MS haven't yet done a good enough job.
