STALKER 2 development paused due to Russia-Ukraine war - briefly

In a new video posted on the developer's YouTube channel, the team said that STALKER 2's development has been pushed to the sidelines. GSC Game World is currently focusing on making sure its developers are safe during the invasion. STALKER 2 development will probably resume once the invasion is over, but it's unclear when that's going to be. STALKER 2 is the sequel to 2007's original. You once again venture into the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone that's full of dangerous enemies, strange anomalies, and powerful artifacts. The game is currently available for pre-order, starting at $59.99, on the Xbox Store. Right now, it's only been confirmed for PC and Xbox Series X|S. It'll also be part of Xbox Game Pass at launch.

And where is Stalker 2 studios based? Are they even near Ukraine/Russia?

Just coz the game is based there doesn't mean the dev studios are there.

That's like stopping M$ from making Forza Horizon 5 as the game is based in Mexico and some shit happens in Mexico but the studio where the game is created is in New York.

If their studio is in Ukraine then ok, they have a good excuse to put it on pause. A better idea will be move to a different location. Its not all of ukraine thats under attack its just the parts where USA have their drug labs and the elites have their banks.

BTW, its not like this war just started, its been going on for the last 20 to 30+ years.
I dont know when it started but i know why it started and ukraine is just a puppet and the actual perpetrators dont care about the people there but they will do whatever it takes to take control.

Its not new but the MSM make it out that it started last week. Dont believe them.

So you believe a statement from Russia in Canada. How about the footage of Russian cluster bombs and pictures of them in the streets - Ukraine can exactly throw cluster bombs at it’s self. They are deployed - illegally- by Russian bombers or helicopters. (A banned weapon) What about the convoys 40 miles long of military logistics. Or Russian paratroopers going in, or displacing Upto 5 million civilians. Putin putting his nuclear weapons on standby. Sweden,Britain, France supplying Ukrainian mercenaries with manpads and anti-tank weapons. Yes it’s all propaganda.

Putin thought he would be liberating the people living in Ukraine - Russians and Ukrainians alike.
Problem is, Russians and Ukrainians living in Ukraine do not see them as liberators - they see them as invaders and they are putting up quite the resistance. You would defend your home, your future, too, against an external aggressor, would you not?
When Putin realized people don't want him there, he should have backed out and say 'sorry, I thought this is what you wanted and I thought it would help'. But, no. He decided to keep pushing his own agenda.
Why does Putin keep invading an independent country?

Putin says the Ukrainians are Nazis.
Even if they were nazis, keep in mind people living in Ukraine elected their own government fair and square in a democratic election.
Putin however, does not recognize this government.
Which is fine, he is entitles to his personal opinion - I don't like Russians or Ukrainians either.
But, do you see me taking up arm and start shooting at any of them?
What right does Putin have to do so?

I don't like Ukrainians and I don't want them to join NATO or the EU. Most people in my country agree because we remember the past. In that past, Ukrainians did not like us either.
They are the same as the Russians, except Russians are stubborn and they have the resources.
A military conflict is not an excuse to join either NATO or EU.
These should be handled is peace time - which they tried already and it was vetoed.

I don't like Ukrainians but I do condemn what's going on over there and for the record, our family also sent donations to them.
It is unacceptable to use brute force in the 21st century to impose will over another, independent country.

Suppose Russia manages to eliminate Zelenskyy.
What happens next?
Putin puts there a puppet government that will be executed the moment the Russian military leaves the country (which they have to do because they can't occupy it).
Having executed the puppet government, the people of Ukraine will start a democratic election and choose their own leaders, at which point, all of Putin's efforts will have been in vain.
They say Putin is a smart man, he surely recognizes all that.
There is just no logic in Putin's actions - even if Ukrainians were nazis like he claims.

I predict Putin will not get a chance to stand trial in court - he will be killed by his own people, much like Ceausescu has been dealt with in 1989.
I wonder if Putin's family will be killed though.
