| Sabot | (10:06 PM CEST - Oct,02 2011 ) | I have the active glasses -it came with 2 pairs
After seeing and testing a Sony 53" 3D set which cost 3,000 WITHOUT any glasses i hasten to add, it suffered terrible cross-talk and flicker! We tested the 46" 600Hz Panasonic TXP46VT20 plasma
It was noticeably darker than LCD -to be expected. But the 3D was truly mindBLOWING!!! It shipped as part of the bundle with Avatar 3D, Ice Age 2 3D, Coraline 3D and a music 3D blu-ray.
Having seen Avatar in the cinema, the home version is MILES sharper and better -apart from the natural encapsulating feel of a 60ft plus screen etc
Gameplay on PS3; Killzone 3D, Motorstorm 3D, GT5 and MANY,MANY others are superb. We have 3D channels to watch and rent 3D films too.
The fact the glasses run at a TRUE 1080P at 60fps per eye, 600Hz sub-field -faster than ANY LCD set out there, which is what set tv apart from LCD and made our purchase.
It also came with a 3D 1000W RMS 7.1 dedicated player.
It has the ability to convert 2D transmissions/progs into 3D. Some work, some don't. It's just an EXTRA feature but not a MAIN feature.
It also has the ability to smooooth out films and makes them seem like they are broadcast in TRUE 24fps -as per the director.
All in all, a bloody excellent buy.
It can view 3D pictures by way of it's onboard SD card slot and it's wireless/ satelite enabled.
It's also as slim as a Sony 46" LCD (which we have above it)
They also run about 1/3rd more power than an LCD, but the picture etc is like the old days of diamondtron/Trintron sets. The best of their time.
Colors are lifelike and the deepest blacks -it's THX certified. | |
