Sony Cuts U.K. PS2 Price - briefly

PlayStation 2 has dropped in price in the U.K. Major U.K, retailers such as HMV, WH Smith and Electronics Boutique are among the stores already selling the console for £269.99. The original price was £299.
It has also been reported that Sony will reduce the price of PlayStation 2 in Japan this week in Japan, via its online store in Japan. Effective from June 8, gamers can log on to PlayStation.com and purchase PS2 for 37,800 yen ($317).
No information has been released regarding a U.S. price cut, but we'll keep you informed. [more]
