Sonic Mania DRM Issues - briefly

Sonic Mania is now available for Windows on Steam, offering a new 2D adventure from the platformer series. There is an unfortunate situation on the game's DRM so the game not currently supporting offline play : Looks like the game is using Denuvo for some reason, even though Steam has its own DRM scheme. Like you, we've noticed an error in the Steam store not mentioning the DRM for Sonic Mania.

We're fixing that now.

Sonic Mania is intended to be played offline and we're investigating reports on that.

We're also investigating other issues like controller support, these are all PC specific things that Christian and the team have been working on these last few weeks

Please bear with us while we collate and investigate problems that are being brought to our attention.
UPDATE: UPDATE: Sega has patched â€œthe offline play bugâ€ that was affecting the PC version of Sonic Mania, disabling the ability to play the game offline.

No one noticed this problem because no one is playing this POS. This is the first time I actually heard of it and was bored just reading about it a second later when I went to check out what it is. So I don't really know what it really is because it was too boring reading about it, and even more boring watching it on YT, my eyes bled.
