Section 8 to Support PC Hosting of Xbox 360 Servers - briefly

TimeGate Studios today announced that its upcoming shooter Section 8 will allow players to host Xbox 360 servers on PCs. The servers will support up to 32 Xbox players at once, resulting in one of the larger Xbox 360 multiplayer shooters. Without a dedicated server, Section 8 only supports 16 players on the console. On the PC side, running the game on a dedicated server will allow for 40 players, with the max knocked down to 32 when moving to peer-to-peer. According to SouthPeak Games, both dedicated server programs will be available for the launch of TimeGate's first-person shooter on September 1.



Update: The TimeGate Studios Forums have word that beta testing of Section 8 is now open to European and Australian players. Players from these territories will need a free FilePlanet, GameSpy, or IGN account.

Game is ok but there are LOTS of bugs and I think they ran out of time fixing em. Out of beta the sound is still going to be horrible.
