He didnt want to play it because

1. He's an asshole only looking out for himself. Ready to sell out.
2. He supported the changes to the game that ruined it.
3. He supported anything that would take the game out of 3D Realms and Georges hands.

What this interview is Scott trying to vindicate himself. Retire and leave gaming Scott. You were finished years ago.
