I somehow wasted my entire day today, and I have no idea how! :-o
Here's some stuff:
- Xbox modchip makers get their hands on the Xbox 360 - Some guys at
SmartXX managed to get their hands on a few Xbox 360 developer kits and have
posted 40 high
resolution shots of the motherboard for our viewing pleasure.
- IBM, Sony and Toshiba release Cell details - IBM, in partnership
with Sony and Toshiba, has released
500 pages of documents detailing the features of the Cell processor (not
exactly bed-time reading).

with version 8.0 of MSN Messenger sometime next year.
- Google Earth 3.0.0529 Beta -
Google Earth combines
satellite imagery, maps and the power of Google Search to put the world’s
geographic information at your fingertips. Fly from space to your
neighborhood. Type in an address and zoom right in. Search for schools, parks,
restaurants, and hotels. Get driving directions. Tilt and rotate the view to
see 3D terrain and buildings. Save and share your searches and favorites. Even
add your own annotations.
- MPAA files lawsuits based on confiscated P2P server logs -
Hollywood studios filed a new round of lawsuits against file swappers on
Thursday, for the first time using peer-to-peer companies' own data to track
down individuals accused of trading movies online. The group previously said
in February that a Texas court had ordered that the server logs of one big
site, called LokiTorrent, be turned over to Hollywood investigators. An MPAA
spokeswoman said that none of Thursday's suits were related to that action,
however.
- Visa Seeks New Ways to Keep Data Secret -
Inside Visa's operations center is a cool, white room about the size of a
football field. There, more than a thousand giant computers, set up like
hulking linemen, process cardholder information from across the United States.
- No More RIO MP3 Players - D&M Holdings Inc. today announced it
would exit the mass-market portable digital audio player business, currently
marketed under the Rio brand, by September 30, 2005. So I assume Rio
MP3 players
should
be available at bargain prices soon.

replica of the trash talking robot from Futurama includes glowing eyes, a
CD-eating mouth and the ability to say “Bite My Shiny Metal Ass” on demand.
- Chaos Cat-Attack! It's Chaotic! -
The Cat Attack
(product
page) uses the latest research in chaos theory and complex systems to
emulate the movements and personality of a cat's favorite prey. This "virtual
mouse" technology utilizes algorithms based on a six-dimensional coupled nzmap
system modeled on the neural network of a real mouse.
