- Titan Quest Diary -
The third Titan Quest development diary focuses on the sound and music
found in Iron Lore's isometric action RPG.
- Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory map - Ubisoft released
a new free map (20MB) for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory called Polar Base.
- Metal Heart: v1.3 Patch -
A new patch for MetalHeart: Replicant's Rampage is now available, updating
Numlock Software's post-apocalyptic RPG to version 1.2.
- S.W.I.N.E. Patch v1.9. - The StormRegion has released
new patches for S.W.I.N.E., updating the porcine RTS game to version 1.9
- Bethesda Confirms Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Is 1 Disc - One of the
powers that be over at
the offical Elder Scrolls forum has put to rest any fears that Oblivion is
going to span more than just one disc.
- CES: PS3 controller absent at CES - The maligned PS3 concept
controller was last seen at the 2005 Electronics Entertainment Expo in Los
Angeles. The concept controller received poor reviews with critics citing a
"batarang" look that would not be comfortable to hold.
The
absence of the controller points to signs that Sony is redeveloping the unit
to be more aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and hands. Its Dual Shock 2
controller is regarded in the video game community as one of the best console
controller designs.
- US FFXI 360 Beta Begins -
Gamespot is reporting that the U.S. Final Fantasy XI Xbox 360 Beta has
begun. You're going to have to get ahold of a Beta disc from the Official Xbox
magazine's February issue, and then
sign up at the
PlayOnline site.
- Does gaming cost too much? - This week's Escapist has a Casual
Friday piece concerning the cost of gaming.
According to the article, games--as compared to movies--cost too much,
providing a barrier to entry that will stop the industry from hitting
mainstream.
- Sony to Cut 10,000 Jobs - Company executives intend to meet
next week in Hawaii to assess the restructuring. The company is planning to
cut 10,000 jobs.
- BloodRayne movie review - Here's an excerpt: "In the end the movie
felt way too long (even at 96 minutes) and had me bored to tears (just watch
the trailer and times it by 10). In addition, the screenplay was loaded with
useless dialogue and characters (Bill Zane). BloodRayne was your typical Boll
style filled with tired action sequences and lack of motivation (or
preparation?). If you want to shell out $10 to see a $25 million dollar
student film, this is the time to do it. As much as I think Uwe's films are
terrible, I can't wait to see what he does with $60 million dollars!! "
