As you may have noticed, JoWooD has cancelled the development of Stargate-SG1: The Alliance. While I'm glad to see we won't get a piece of crap game I was really looking forward to this. But I believe there are plenty of talented developers who would have given their right arms to make an quality SG1 title. I also hope they will change the genre. I beleive it would be a great RPG rather than FPS. We'll see what happens in the future.

Here's some stuff:
  • New Xbox Live Bundles Announced - The package, which retails for US$69.99, includes a 12-month Xbox Live subscription, an Xbox Live Communicator Headset, a full version of Project Gotham Racing 2, and casual games from Xbox Live Arcade. In addition to the 12-month option, a new three-month Xbox Live Starter Kit will be available this summer for US$39.99.
  • Xbox 360 pictured, does a million polygons -  ATI did its own Rubi demo and was rendering that demo on 720P resolution. The Rubi model was rendered with 70,000 polygons while some of its elements had as many as 120,000 polygons per character. The most demanding scene had the dreamlike number of one million polygons per scene.
  • PSP on Xbox 360 -  A forum member got his hands on a Xbox360 dev kit and was able to test out how it interacts with the PSP. He reports that he was able to listen to MP3s right off the PSP through the Xbox 360 Music Player and view images from the PSP in full screen mode.
  • Windows Genuine Advantage Circumvented Yet Again -  Just use GenuineCheck.exe in Win2000 compatibility mode, it will return a valid code.
  • Monad Shell Removed From Vista - According to Stephen Toulouse at Microsoft, because of the possible virus threat that targets Monad the shell will not be included in Windows Vista.
  • New custom region code reset tool for NEC drives available - All you NEC drive owners out there that have hit the region code limit on your drives, have a new alternative.
  • Clickers Redefining Classrooms - A clicker is a small handheld device that allows its user to wirelessly respond to various prompts selected by a teacher.
  • U.S. charges man in camcorder-piracy crackdown - Curtis Salisbury, 19, used a camcorder to make copies of recent releases "The Perfect Man" and "Bewitched" and then distributed them through illicit computer networks that specialize in piracy, the Justice Department said
  • Making Fire From Water - This Aqueon fireplace by Heat & Glo actually uses regular water to create fire!
  • The Making of a BattleMech - Yes, someone built a giant BattleMech! Watch it stomp around on his neighbors houses and lay waste to gas stations with LRM racks! Okay maybe it can't do all that ( It's a treehouse ), but he did build a giant "MadCat" BattleMech. Check it out! Lots of pictures! Sweet!
  • Alien vs. Predator Collector's Edition Coming - This new two-disc release will include the theatrical edition of the film, along with a seamlessly branched unrated cut. The new scenes added are entitled Antarctica 1904, Argument, Chamber of Skulls, Sacrifice, Weyland's Death and Predator Ritual.. The Collector's Edition DVD of Alien vs. Predator will be released on November 22.
  • Sin City DVD Menus - Buena Vista Home Entertainment has provided Superhero Hype! with five menu screens from the Sin City on DVD hitting stores on August 16.
