- Post a comment GameSpy has written a new review of Shrapnel Game's real-time strategy title, Remote Assault. Here's an excerpt:
"It isn't like the game has warts on it. Remote Assault is rendered in 3D, and the game can be zoomed, tilted, rotated, and scrolled to the player's delight. Anti-tank missiles whoosh across the landscape, artillery kicks up clods of dirt, and tank cannons buck as they engage enemy forces. Nah, the thing ain't ugly, but there are times when it just plain ain't anything. Unlike Ground Control, you can't zoom until you see shells eject from canon or the warning stripes on a tank's fenders. The vehicles are generic, the landscape a bit monotonous, and the sky, which is always dull black, non-existent. On the other hand, watching the Multiple Launch Rocket System (MLRS) stop, pivot, and spew tens of rockets will bring a grin to any gamer's face." [more] |
