has posted an interview with Ingmar Spit and Alan Wilson talking about
their popular Red Orchestra
modification. Here's a taster:
BT: Would it be possible to tell us a bit about the future plans of
Red Orchestra? For example some new features that may be planned? Or a single
player experience?
Ingmar Spit: On the short term: we are working on version 3.2, which
should be released sometime soon. It will hold the long expected MG42 Machine
gun, a new tank, our first offline and online bot support and some more features
we wanted to put into 3.1. It will also feature one new map. The new bot support
is great fun, online players on both sides can order bots around to assault or
defend certain territory objectives. It is something that opens new paths to
online co-op FPS gameplay. On the long run, the team would love to do a
single-player experience, visiting important battlefronts of the Eastern Front.
History proves it to be one of the major collisions in human history. It's time
this story is being told on its own in gaming history.
Alan Wilson: We are still cracking through stuff at a remarkable pace
right now with the mod, even after MSU has finished. Of course, the plans will
change if we get a retail deal - and there is just so much we plan to do.
Dramatic improvements to the AI, single player game, enhancing the vehicle
combat out beyond anything seen in the Sim world to date. Really, we'd like to
hit that aim of a First Person Simulation. Sim-quality realism, but done in a
true First Person format.
