Rage Patch Arrives To Fix Graphics Issues - patch

As promised, id and Bethesda have released their first patch for RAGE, which promises to fix the graphics issues that have plagued users since launch.
- Implemented workaround for AMD driver crash right after intro cinematic on Win 7 32-bit systems.
- Disabled UBOs because they are causing animation issues with AMD drivers. Don’t allow swap-tear to be enabled on AMD while the extension is not exposed because it may crash.
- Support for new video settings: “texture cache”, “vsync”, and ”anisotropic filter”
- Automatically adjust vt_maxPPF based on the number of available cores.
- Improved performance for SLI cards when GPU transcode is enabled.
- Fix for GPU Transcoding option being disabled after exiting gameplay.
- Added safe mode to restore video settings to default values.
- Allow g_fov to be changed from the RAGE launch options in Steam.
- Server now forwards text chat from clients to all other clients while in-game.

I either have a choice of playing with 20 fps and old driver or with 60 fps and new driver and crazy texture patches everywhere...

when i finish it, estimating tomorrow doubt I will play it again so who cares. I can live with the gfx crap for a few more hours. Always solid fps for me. Are you using rageconfig file? might fix your problems. I just have some weird blur/sync problem, it's like tearing maybe. First time I seen that happen. Patch didn't fix it. No biggie.

It runs fine now on both my Nvidia and ATI cards.

My GTX 570 runs at 1080P+4XAA with 40% gpu usage, solid at 60fps.

My ATI 5850 runs at 1080P+4XAA with 66% gpu usage, solid at 60fps.

Both with 8192k textures.

I know that my GTX 460 will run it fine. Maybe even more so than the 5850. I am very curious to see how my old trusty 4850 will do with it though.

PS The 8192k texture options, puts almost 50% more memory load. From 550MB of the normal setting, memory usage jumped to 750MB with 8192k textures.

of course, but thanks anyway. That driver screwed my windows. Upon booting up and entering desktop, I get black or corrupted screen. I had to boot in safe mode, do the drivercleaner thing, then install another catalyst just so I can properly uninstall (catalyst installer somehow saw that I still have most of the components), then I installed 11.6 and ogl dlls from that V2 rage driver you linked.

I did version2 beta drivers they gave patches, when I opened the inf I noted what the opengl dlls were and copied them from the beta ocl driver to the beta2 directory. Upon installing driver the texture patches were gone but it ran as slow as the old driver.

I'll sit on it for a week hopefully it will start working.

I think this game deserves the SHITTIEST ENDING of all Time Award. Almost like a "Oh oh we ran out of money" better end it here. Game took me just over 10 hours to complete.
