PS Vita 2000, 15% lighter, 20% thinner, $100 cheaper - console

Sony Computer Entertainment has announced an update to the PS Vita handheld console. Called the PS Vita 2000, it will be 20 percent lighter (219g) and 15 percent thinner than the current console. Sony is now using an LCD panel for the 5 inch display (resolution retained at 960 x 544) in plave of the OLED screen and has incorporated 1GB of onboard storage. Sony is also working on 64GB memory cards for the new device. Unfortunately the new model will be devoid of 3G support so you'll have to make do with just Wi-Fi. Sony says the new Vita will launch in Japan on October 10 at a retail price of 18,980 yen (US$190). It will come in six color options. The current Vita now retails for S$399 (US$312).



At the Sony press conference yesterday in Tokyo, the company also announced that it will be launching a 64GB memory card for Vita as well as several new games including God Eater 2, Gundam Breaker, Final Fantasy 10 and Phantasy Star Nova. There will also be limited-edition bundles of the Vita with some of the upcoming games. Sony expects about 100 Vita titles by the end of the year.

Another piece of junk. I pity the fools who bought this garbage. LOL! I know some personally that already got rid of their like literally a month after getting it. Swore up and down how good it was, how good it was going to get and next thing I hear, "Oh I got rid of that piece of crap". So typical Sony, make it cheaper and fools will come in droves to buy it. Bet ya Stumpus is just rubbing his hands (among other things) about this news. Speaking of fools! :roll:
