Pro Racer Driver Interview - interview

GamersClick.com has just posted an interview with game designer Will Darling of Codemasters in regards to their upcoming racing title Pro Race Driver. The interview is quite extensive and discusses various issues including the licensing of cars, steering wheel support, the development process of a driving game and more. The PC version will be released in March 2003. Here is a slice:

GamersClick: Driving wheels will be fully supported correct? How about a clutch and shifter?

GamersClick: Force feedback steering wheels are most definitely supported and are by far the best way to experience Pro Race Driver. (We were actually able to significantly improve the handling for steering wheels, due to their superb sensitivity and control compared to gamepads and other controllers.) Support for custom gear shifter systems was determined to be too complex to use and besides, almost all modern racing cars use sequential gear selection now anyway!

yeah it looks AWESOME !!! its the physics of the car handling that counts ohhh this is 1 place where realism should be paramount !
