The accompanying gif shows the new, updated engine in all its splendor as well. A pre-order bonus was also announced, offering three new items to start the adventure with. These items include St. Drogga’s Skull, crafted from a sabre and the skull of a martyr that causes slashing and burning damage; Beakhead the Hawk, an in-game pet; and a Black Flag, offering an additional ship customization option.
The game can be pre-ordered now with three versions available. The first version, offered at $49.99, is just the standard edition base game. The Deluxe Edition ($59.99) features the base game and the soundtrack, in-game pet, a special in-game item, Pillars of Eternity Pen & Paper RPG Starter Guide, a high-resolution game map, and the digital guidebook. Finally, the Obsidian Edition (digital at $74.99) includes all of the previous goodies, plus the Deadfire DLC content packs in the form of a season pass. Of course, the physical version of the Obsidian Edition will run a bit higher at $79.99, but will also include a cloth map, notepad, and game-themed postcards. Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire will be available on PC on April 3, 2018.
