   Sega has announced plans to release an upgraded version of their Dreamcast RPG 'Phantasy Star Online.' Scheduled for release on May 17th under the moniker 'Version 2.0,' the game will include a variety of new features including new bosses, areas, and gameplay modes.
To begin, developer Sonic Team has added an 'Ultimate Mode.' Therein, players are limited to specific areas based on their experience level. As it increases, they have access to new areas and bosses. In addition, the maximum level has been increased from 100 to 200. Accordingly, Sonic Team has added new bosses including an 'Ice Dragon,' which now freezes players instead of flaming them. New stages including 'The Ancient Ruins,' and 'The Spaceship,' are also being added. Most intriguing however, a variety of new hidden features including special 'Mag' upgrades and a soccer mini-game are being planned for version 2.0. Outside of added goodies, the revision will also fix several online bugs which previously allowed players to cheat. [more] |
