- Post a comment With Smolensk, Normandy, and Kharkov behind it, John Tiller and HPS' WWII series turns to North Africa for its fourth game. Covering the battles of 1941 in the region of Libya around the port city of Tobruk, the game reprises the general structure of the earlier titles and adds new features and rules.
Tobruk '41 covers somewhat fewer distinct battles than some of the other Panzer Campaign games, but breaks most of them down into discrete phases, offering plenty of variety. There are also variants using the new supply rules, which feature actual supply dumps and mobile supply units. You'll find Brevity, Gazala, Battleaxe, and Crusader within, as well as some smaller scale tussles, for a total of 52 scenarios including variants and tutorials. The battles range from Mersa Brega in March, 1941, to the full Crusader campaign kicking off in November and lasting into the new year. [more] |
