Hawken is a work in progress, and there are many aspects of the game, some already finished, that are not shown in this video.

The polygon count is insane!

I don't believe all these edges and finer details are through normal maps.

Whatever they are, kudos, great result!

Sorry for the OT but since I installed FF4 I am seeing a curious behavior with the site.

Sometimes when I visit, all the Youtube videos of the fist page, just open by themselves in new tabs!

Anyone else seen this? :?: :?

happens to me on facebook. All YT videos that I played, start to play again all at the same time in every sense of that word.

Well, maybe some day youll stop using that fashion tool FF and go for something real, like Opera 8-)

stfu tride :D I could never setup Opera to look as minimal as my FF 3 or 4 and still be functional. I used Opera for 4 years before I went to FF 3. I felt like I bought a whole new computer, a better one :P

Then you should definitely check Opera 11! I can show you screenshot of my Opera... as minimal as you can make any browser!

Oh come on! Foxy is no fashion tool!

I've been using it since its first release and it has worked great. It only busts my balls with its stupid sync which has stopped working for me during the past three months and I don't know what gives.

Opera is fine too, as Chrome. I don't like IE though!

does it have adblock and ability to selectively block content of your choosing? Did they finally put auto-complete in forms, passwords and address bar?

this is how my FF3 looked. http://i.imgur.com/1folL.jpg I later moved the tabs down. FF4 looks even more minimal since I don't use search bar, I use address bar for search, like in chrome :)

I says fashion tool as reference to the Iphone, i dont know if you understood me correctly :) It might be good, but it aint that good as everyone says it is.. this is IMO! ;)

gt-x: Yes, you have adblock that is like...i dont know, from version 9 i think ? It works perfect for me, well some text ads cant be blocked but who cares...
It has auto-complete forms, i never used them really but tryed them and they worked fine in my humble experience.
About auto-complete for the adress bar ? You mean when you start typing adress it gives suggestions ? If yes, yes it has it.... from a couple of versions back now... i cant recall...
And it also has the X button on the typed in adresses :D ...
Opera aways, or almost aways was very customizable - here is a screen of my minimalistic UI - http://imgur.com/VgquW
Its all about you learning shorcuts and mouse gestures :)
btw, if i unhide the tab bar its the same as your FF :)
Seriously dude, give it a try!
P.s. if you try it, and get annoyed about the visual mouse gestures ugly interface fakin thing... just disable it. - here is a useful link! - http://techdows.com/2010/11/how-to-disable-visual-mouse-gestures-in-opera-11.html

I tried version 10, I still have it installed. It cannot auto login into sites, you have to manually select to log in. If you play a game with more accounts it's especially annoying since you can't just type in user name and get password filled in automatically, you have to select it from saved passwords.
mouse gestures are in opera since god knows when, it's a must have feature, I use it in FF too. I also use grease monkey for various java plugins and applets that simply some tasks or add features to some sites, I also have speed dial in FF and along with mouse gestures you get rocker gestures, something that opera doesn't have (at least version 10 doesn't) and I am used to them like I am used to mouse gestures.
Also, like I said, you don't need all those search fields for google or for in-page find, FF does that in address bar (alt+D gets you there in most browsers), just type what you need. Also, read something about smart address bar, opera doesn't have that. It practically eliminates the need for bookmarks, perhaps even for speed dial. Don't forget the new "TabCandy" feature in FF4 ;)

all in all, I would rather call Opera a fashion browser rather than Firefox. Firefox comes as minimal install, while opera has tons of tings embended, mail client, news client and what not.

PS. It's not minimal as long as you have titlebar :P

No no... i dont mean mouse gestures, i mean visual mouse gestures - its a new interface navigation feature in the new Opera, that i find it to be terrible! But its IMO, some new users might find it useful!

About that autologin into sites ? Lol, well i never kinda needed it... when i press remember me at login, im like aways logged in... But you need it, so its your call.
Also the extensions about Opera, you might find somethings there that are useful. For example the Picture preview extension is a must for me now, lol - its awesome!
And, you can aways remove the search fileds from the bars ? Whats the problem ? I use them alot, but its my workflow you know...
When you type in the adress bar a word or something it searches it with Google, you can setup a custom search engine.... ?!

now, for the smart adress bar - if this is what you refer to - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7Acz5Cnpc0
Then, its in Opera too.... if i recall correctly it was there in ver.10 too ?
For speed dial, i never found it useful, as you can see from my screenshot i use the bookmarks bar that is practicaly my day browsing...
About the minimal install of Opera and FF :) Well now, i rather have tools that work than plugins or addons... Since in Opera those tools dont slow down the program in anyway, its no problem :)

I dont know man, its pointles to get a fight about what is the best browser but you give it a try to the new Opera. At the end its all about workflow, habits and what makes you happy! :)

gx-x(11:08 PM CEST - Apr,01 2011 )
Agreed. Use what suits you best. IMO, FF has everything and nothing. It's a choice. None of the things you mentioned are missing in firefox, it's just done through addons, that's all.

as for address bar, it keeps trace of what you visit the most and if you for example visit ggmania more often than guru3d for example, it's enough to type "g" in address bar and it will give you an option to open ggmania, next option (scroll down once or tab) would be guru3d, if you know what I mean. you can also define functions to certain letters, say, you define search picassa to "-p" and then type "-p bird" in address bar and it will search picassa for that word. and yes, you can define custom search engines or "bind" them to a letter like I explained a moment ago. I myself found google to be best of them so I don't bother with that :)

as for preview, try cooliris plugin, it is available for opera, chrome and firefox. Great addon IMO.
