(hx) 10:21 AM CET - Mar,07 2005 - Post a comment / read (1)
The EOB Team headed by Rick Francis have released the Eye of the Beholder mod for Neverwinter Nights, which which is a remake of a very popular game from the early 90's. They've put over 20 months of hard work to bring you their version of the Eye of the Beholder. (thanks Neverwinter Vault)
The EOB Team is proud to release Eye of the Beholder. This mod can be played solo single or 4 player multiplayer module. Each of the 12 levels has been recreated from the original maps used in the 1991 version created by Westwood Studios, 2 SECRET LEVELS and 6 in-game cut scenes. The original Clue Book for EOB can be used to help you complete the game, if you don't have the clue book we have included a PDF Walk thru to help you. There are over 25 side quests in Eye of the Beholder that can be completed. Don't rush through the maps or you will miss out on over 200 new magical items that have been added to the game. There are 7 new Henchman that have been created just for Eye of the Beholder. Find them and use them, as they will be one of your greatest assets in the game when you are fighting for your life. We hope you will enjoy playing Eye of the Beholder as much as we did making it. - EOB Team

This thing is massive. I've been on beta for this thing from the start. Let me just say that when we played through it, we would meet for a lan party on Friday night and wouldn't finish until early AM sunday, and we knew exactly what to do and didn't have to figure out the puzzles (although we would replay certain areas). IMHO 30+ hours of gameplay is a little conservative.
This thing really is a very nice peice of work. Alot of talent and time went into over the last 2 years.
You may have played version 1 that was released (and featured on the March 2003 issue of Computer Games), but version 2 is a whole 'nother ball game. Its like comparing a McDonald's regular hamburger to a double quarter pounder with cheese.

Keep in mind while it is very playable for single player, it was tweaked for multi, so if you play single player things may seem a heavy at times and you will be rolling in gold, but add 2 or 3 friends and you really gotta work as a team. Man, it feels good to finally see this thing out in the wild.
