- Post a comment NVIDIA® Corporation introduced its new nForce™ Platform Processing Architecture today at the COMPUTEX tradeshow in Taiwan. NVIDIA’s nForce is a revolutionary new PC platform design, integrating system, graphics, communications, and audio technologies to deliver unmatched system performance for the mainstream PC market
To bridge the gap between the expectations of today’s users and the limitations of current and future technologies, and to deliver unmatched system performance, it was necessary for NVIDIA to depart from the traditional “Northbridge/Southbridge” chipset architectures to create an entirely new class of PC platform. The NVIDIA nForce Platform Architecture provides four key benefits to consumers: The world’s fastest PC platform architecture ever designed, five to 10 times the graphics performance of any other integrated PC graphics accelerator, AMD’s HyperTransport™ technology, integrated onto both the nForce IGP and nForce MCP, improves overall system level performance by providing up to 6 times the internal bandwidth needed for today’s demanding system requirements, and multiple, high-performance DSP audio engine for ear shattering, real-time 3D audio and, for the first time, real-time encoded Dolby™ Digital 5.1 surround sound. These DSPs will also be used to enable broadband communications in a future generation product. [more] |
