Q: You have already been asked many times why DelphiEye chose the Serious Engine. We won't ask you this again, we have read the other interviews. But we are still going to ask you something related to the Serious Engine did you had to change a lot of stuff in the code to make it fit your needs?

A: Of course, we did. Even though Serious Sam and its engine are absolutely great, Nitro Family is totally different from them. What we want from Serious Engine is the broad and bright rendering quality and the capacity to handle large number of enemies at the same time.The rest of other parts, particularly gameplays, had to be changed a lot.

Because Serious Engine has its own characteristic, Nitro Family might be seen similarly. But there are big differences of the gameplays themselves. In order to operate large amount of graphic data comparing to Serious Sam, we changed a lot of stuffs in a core engine part and a network part.

Since Serious Engine is optimized for Serious Sam we needed to modify many codes for our own unique gameplays like dual hand weapons, combo play, Maria, and basketball puzzle, as well as network codes.
