(hx) 01:25 AM CEST - Aug,01 2003 - Post a comment / read (4)
  • No Half-Life 2 Delay After All? - HomeLAN has now managed to chat with Ms. Farris over the phone who confirmed that Valve is still planning to ship Half-Life 2 on Sept. 30. She also called the previous news on its delay from the other major gaming web sites "a misscommunication". heh :)
  • Half-Life 2 Q&A - Half-Life 2 Source has posted a brief Q&A with Valve Software's Gabe Newell combined with a Q&A with Valve's Chris Bokitch as they talk about both Half-Life 2 and some personal questions. According to the interview,  the Half-Life 2 SDK will not be released prior to the game's release, which is a change from what has been said in the past.
  • Half-Life dedicated servers v1.1.1.1d  - Valve Software has issued beta patches for the dedicated Half-Life servers, updating the Windows server to version 4.1.1.1d and the Linux one to v3.1.1.1d. This release addresses some security exploits along with various HLTV issues and other bugs as detailed in the release notes.
  • Company patches flaws in 'Half-Life' game  - A security research company has released its own patch for critical flaws in a popular computer game, saying it had waited months for the game's creator to do something. "These bugs affect both clients and servers, so everyone that plays or serves 'Half-Life' is vulnerable," said Luigi Auriemma, a senior security researcher with the company. PivX's "Preparation V" patch is currently available for download on the company's Web site. Note: The fix is also available directly from Valve FTP +  here's the change log and the e-mail that Eric Smith sent about the update.
  • Shattered Galaxy For Free Since Aug. 11 - We just received PR, annoucing that starting August 11th, unlimited free play time in Shattered Galaxy will be offered to all gamers everywhere. The new unlimited free play time plan will allow any gamer the choice of joining Shattered Galaxy with or without a registered account. For those who play without an account, there are no time limits, no level limits, and no risks to play. Players with registered accounts ($9.95 per month) will enjoy the full benefits of the game, including full experience points earned in battle, the ability to buy rare and special units, and many other advantages.
  • Knights of Honor website launched - PR Baby "BSS Julia" sent us an information that the official Knights of Honor website has been launched with info and screenshots from this historical management-strategy game set in the Middle Ages from Sunflowers and Black Sea Studios.
