Nightly Reading - StarCraft II 1.1.1 Patch - briefly
(hx) 01:33 AM CEST - Sep,29 2010 - Post a comment / read (9)
  • Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light & Demo Released - Steam now offers digital distribution of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, the latest installment in the Tomb Raider series of action/adventure games. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is being billed as an isometric arcade game with a fixed camera and an onus on fun. Crystal Dynamics are also working on a second title, a continuation of the Tomb Raider series. In addition to the game, Steam also offers a playable demo to allow you to sample the new release.
  • StarCraft II issues 1.1.1 patch - Just a week after Blizzard released a major 1.1 patch for its sci-fi RTS game StarCraft II, the developer has now issued a new smaller patch for the game via its auto-updater. The 1.1.1 patch deals with a few smaller issues that have cropped up in the game since the 1.1 patch.
  • F1 2010 - Confirmed Race AI is Phoney - The Codemasters Forums have posts from Formula 1 2010 users who claim that the AI in the new racing sim is phony, citing evidence like incorrect lap times for AI drivers, lack of split times, strange AI pit stops, and more.
  • Tropico 3: Gold Edition Ships - Kalypso Media announced that Tropico 3: Gold Edition is now available in North American stores, offering a bundle of Tropico 3 for Windows as well as the Absolute Power expansion for the economics sim/city building sequel.
  • Theatre of War 2: Battle for Caen expansion pack announced - 1C Company's WWII-themed RTS game Theatre of War 2 is getting yet another expansion pack later this fall. Theatre of War 2: Battle for Caen centers on the real World War II battle that happened from June 26 to July 19, 1944 between British and German forces. The expansion pack will add a total of over 40 new units to the main game for both sides of the conflict. There will also be eight new multiplayer maps in Battle for Caen and new infantry weapons as well. It's likely that this expansion will be sold in the US via Battlefront.com as has been the case with previous games and expansions in the series.
  • Supreme Commander 2 Infinite War Battle Pack DLC released on Steam - The Infinite War Battle Pack DLC is available to download now via Steam for $9.99. While there's no new single player additions, the DLC contains 10 new multiplayer maps (eight maps plus two more that are double the size of the regular maps). There are also a number of additional units for the game's three factions
  • Planescape: Torment now on GoG.com - The Dungeons and Dragons-based game is now available from GoG.com for $9.99. In addition to the game itself the site also has a number of bonus materials including the game's manual, wallpapers, the game's soundtrack, over 100 pieces of artwork, avatars and even a PDF of the game's novelization from Chris Avellone (now at Obsidian working on Fallout: New Vegas) and Colin McComb.
  • Blood Drive Trailer Released (Xbox 360) - Blood Drive sounds like a mash-up between Dead Rising, Twisted Metal, and Smash TV.   In Blood Drive, contestants must use their motorized death steeds of steel in a televised game show where drivers battle each other and hordes of revolting flesh eaters in an all-out fight to the death. Face undead frat boys, cops, strippers and bachelorette partiers, each with their own special brand of death and devastation - and ways to die! While these rotting monsters wander the streets of a desert sin city craving sweet, succulent brains, your enemies have come equipped battle hardened armed vehicles, including heavily weaponized muscle cars, hot rods, and more. Amidst this gore-drenched mayhem contestants must use their head or lose it!
  • Size Limit Holding Back Oddworld Remake From XBLA - Developer Just Add Water has revealed on their blog that while the remake of the original-Xbox-exclusive Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath is currently slated to be... well.. exclusive to the PlayStation Network, they have a version for the Xbox 360 lined up to march out the door and onto XBLA. However, the size of the game as compiled is currently 2.1GB--exactly .1 gigabytes over the limit for XBLA titles that Microsoft allows.
  • 3DS to launch in Japan on November 11? - According to German newspaper Bild, which hasn’t got any gaming cred as far as we know, Nintendo will release its revolutionary 3DS handheld on November 11 in Japan, and in the rest of the world in Spring 2011, at an estimated price of around $250.

Honestly, who'd want this old crap? I guess someone with a $300 PC. I still have this game in it's original box on my shelf.

Game is +10 years old man. Like Dx6 for god sakes. I finished it and its been on a shelf ever since. Yippe. $9.99 seems rather steep. Save yourself the time and money and do what everyone else did back then, get a rip off the net.

I do; I consider most shooters (old or new) crap.
The PC costs about 2500 (well, laptop). And no, I did not pay for it, the company did.
Please mail your copy to me, I have a friend who'd want it. Thanks.

Planescape: Torment had some of the best writing and storytelling in a game ever, and if you can't put any value on that, then you better go back to your console and count headshots.
