The patches

LOTRO: Siege of Mirkwood Hits December 1st, Pre-Order Bonuses Available -
Turbine has announced that the next expansion to Lord of the Rings Online, titled Siege of Mirkwood will be available December 1st, 2009. Included in the press release is info about what pre-order folks will get, as well as news of a LOTRO Adventurer's Pack which isn't really detailed, but sounds like it's a Battle Chest style release for LOTRO. Mirkwood will run you $19.99 while the Adventurer's Pack will be $39.99.
Peter Molyneux: "I hate demos." -
Lionhead Studios founder and game design
legend Peter Molyneux states
: "Now, I hate demos. I think demos are the death knell of experiences." He feels that previous demos for his own games "completely ruined the game, given too much to the player, or they've confused people." His preferred method is to "give away the very first 45 minutes of the game, completely free."
Dead Space 2 in Preproduction -
Looks like Electronic Arts is moving forward on the sequel to their 2008 sci-fi survival horror game Dead Space.
The latest evidence
comes in the form of a LinkedIn job listing for EA's Visceral Games studio, stating that the game "is in the later stages of pre-production, ready for production in the next few months."

Erm, i suppose he forgets shareware?? Like we used to get. Classic examples were Doom,Castle Wolfenstein 3D and Duke Nukem 3D. you used to get part of the game free on floppy and buy the rest if you liked it.
As for his previous games, well i think it's more the fact he *lied* about what features were in the full game (or not, as the case may be) when we bought them, and then he got abuse on the forums.
Why 45 minutes??? You should release content that SELLS the game and draws the player in. Fat lot of good 45minutes is for a lot of games ie MGS4 -jesus that's the opening MOVIE!!!

45mins hmm that would mean a full game download totalling several gigabytes for a mere three quarters of an hour, go away Peter and come back Paul !

Syndicate, Theme Park and Dungeon Keeper.. fucking owned! those are the games I know Peter Molyneux for being involved in..
And I would glady see those titles come back anyday for a new generation.
Other than those games Peter fucked up after DK, Black and White was just boring, a game that I went out and bought only to have lost interest not long after.. seriously he lost the plot since B&W.
As for the 45min thing, well could talk about that.. but I think this guy is obviously looking for excuses for his past decade of shoddy game releases, making out that giving away too much to demo players ruined his games... is absolute BOLLOCKS. The games were shit, people played the demos and saw that. Giving away the first 45mins of a game is fine , whatever, plenty different ways of enticing gamers, heck 10mins is enough to decide if the game is gonna be fucking good for you or not imo.. and thats probably based on what you've seen and read already... Of course would you want to try a 10min game demo is another thing.. Probably takes 5mins to install most demos and all the rest of SHIT.. I mean portable games demos.. nah fuck that, lets install some shit on this users pc.
not that Peter does good PC games anymore.. he's into making noob shite console games.
