- Bethesda: Skyrim getting mod support - Bethesda
has confirmed that the upcoming
Oblivion sequel, Skyrim, will indeed feature mod tools and mod support.
Skyrim will be out on November 11, 2011.
- Paradox announce free-to-play MMO Salem. When your
character dies he's gone forever! - Salem, a new free-to-play title,
has been announced by Paradox Interactive. The MMORPG is set in a
mythical version of New England, and see players stepping off a boat in
Boston and then having to fend for themselves in the 'New World'. The
game puts emphasis on a player-driven world that promotes crafting
skills. Even more interesting, when your character dies he’s gone
forever, leaving all your creations to be pillaged by other players.
Harsh. Whilst only in the early stages of development, Salem
is due for a 2011 release.
- Hearts of Iron III Expansion Announced - Hearts
of Iron III is to receive a new expansion pack - For The Motherland
- Paradox Interactive have announced today. The game is to
feature a much deeper political system, the ability to stage coups and
Allies vs Axis vs Comintern (Communists) combat. Paradox are also
hoping to alter the pace of the game somewhat too, in the hope that
players will be able to complete a game in a single evening.
- Virtua Tennis 4 announced - Sega has
announced the latest installment in their Virtua Tennis franchise,
Virtua Tennis 4 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. The game will support
motion controls on all three platforms, with the regular Wiimote
support, Xbox 360′s Kinect and PlayStation 3′s Move.

Publishing has released a new video from NASCAR The Game
2011, a new game developed by Eutechnyx and set to be
available in February 2011, for Xbox 360, Wii and PS3.
- Sony Confirms Dead Space: Extraction Will Hit PSN
- Today, Rey Gutierrez confirmed on Sony's
PlayStation Blog that Extraction will not be limited to just purchasers
of the Dead Space 2:LE, but will eventually come to the PlayStation
Network. No full details yet as Gutierrez states those will be coming
"soon."
- Xbox 360 mandatory update restores boot to disc,
detains Call of Duty pirates for a tad - Xbox 360 update, reportedly for a single
bugfix, but which seems to have coincidentally halted scores
of pirates and hackers from playing Call of Duty: Black Ops and Modern
Warfare 2 on the console.
- Did The Creators of Call of Duty Delay A Map Pack
To Help Out The Competition? - Kotaku reports
an intriguing twist on the ongoing legal battles between Electronic
Arts and Activision and between activision and former Infinity Ward
bosses Jason West and Vince Zampella. An internal email from a rival
Electronic Arts executive, released today as part of a court filing,
seems to boast about getting one of the developers of Modern Warfare 2
to delay add-ons for the game. A delay could have prevented the add-on
from interfering with the release of the shooter's biggest competitor.
- Propaganda Games Closed - The Los
Angeles Times has news that Disney has closed Propaganda Games,
the Vancouver-based developer of TRON Evolution, the movie tie-in that
the article notes has not set the world on fire since its release (they
say it's sold under 200K copies, according to NPD Group)
