  • Bethesda: Skyrim getting mod support - Bethesda has confirmed that the upcoming Oblivion sequel, Skyrim, will indeed feature mod tools and mod support. Skyrim will be out on November 11, 2011.
  • Paradox announce free-to-play MMO Salem. When your character dies he's gone forever! - Salem, a new free-to-play title, has been announced by Paradox Interactive. The MMORPG is set in a mythical version of New England, and see players stepping off a boat in Boston and then having to fend for themselves in the 'New World'. The game puts emphasis on a player-driven world that promotes crafting skills. Even more interesting, when your character dies he’s gone forever, leaving all your creations to be pillaged by other players. Harsh. Whilst only in the early stages of development, Salem is due for a 2011 release.
  • Hearts of Iron III Expansion Announced - Hearts of Iron III is to receive a new expansion pack - For The Motherland - Paradox Interactive have announced today. The game is to feature a much deeper political system, the ability to stage coups and Allies vs Axis vs Comintern (Communists) combat. Paradox are also hoping to alter the pace of the game somewhat too, in the hope that players will be able to complete a game in a single evening.
  • Virtua Tennis 4 announced - Sega has announced the latest installment in their Virtua Tennis franchise, Virtua Tennis 4 for the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii. The game will support motion controls on all three platforms, with the regular Wiimote support, Xbox 360′s Kinect and PlayStation 3′s Move.
  • NASCAR The Game 2011: Car Setup Video Dev Diary - Activision Publishing has released a new video from NASCAR The Game 2011, a new game developed by Eutechnyx and set to be available in February 2011, for Xbox 360, Wii and PS3.
  • Sony Confirms Dead Space: Extraction Will Hit PSN - Today, Rey Gutierrez confirmed on Sony's PlayStation Blog that Extraction will not be limited to just purchasers of the Dead Space 2:LE, but will eventually come to the PlayStation Network. No full details yet as Gutierrez states those will be coming "soon."
  • Xbox 360 mandatory update restores boot to disc, detains Call of Duty pirates for a tad - Xbox 360 update, reportedly for a single bugfix, but which seems to have coincidentally halted scores of pirates and hackers from playing Call of Duty: Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2 on the console.
  • Did The Creators of Call of Duty Delay A Map Pack To Help Out The Competition? - Kotaku reports an intriguing twist on the ongoing legal battles between Electronic Arts and Activision and between activision and former Infinity Ward bosses Jason West and Vince Zampella. An internal email from a rival Electronic Arts executive, released today as part of a court filing, seems to boast about getting one of the developers of Modern Warfare 2 to delay add-ons for the game. A delay could have prevented the add-on from interfering with the release of the shooter's biggest competitor.
  • Propaganda Games Closed - The Los Angeles Times has news that Disney has closed Propaganda Games, the Vancouver-based developer of TRON Evolution, the movie tie-in that the article notes has not set the world on fire since its release (they say it's sold under 200K copies, according to NPD Group)
  • NVIDIA Drivers and Upcoming Games - A post on the Overclockers Australia Forums has details on new game profiles (Battlefield 1943, Bulletstorm, Fable III, RAGE, Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad, They, and more) in the newly released version 266.58 NVIDIA reference drivers.
