- Civilization IV: Beyond The Sword Interview - This week, the
second expansion pack for the PC Civilization IV title, Beyond The Sword,
ships to stores this week and it's being billed as the biggest expansion
ever for the series.
FiringSquad got Firaxis producer Jesse Smith to answer some questions
about Civilization IV: Beyond The Sword.

- Crysis at Campus Party 2007: Part #1 - Campus Party 2007 is

- Crysis E3 2007 Official Gameplay Trailer in Real HD - This is the
highest quality Crysis footage to ever be released so far.
- ThreadSpace: Hyperbol LAN Demo -
The LAN
demo offers the chance to check out the game on networks that do not
have Internet access. Word is: "It has all of the tutorials and normal demo
maps included. We still encourage users to install the normal demo since the
really great part of the game emerges online, but for those that can't run
Steam, there is now an alternative."
- Company Of Heroes Patch v1.71 -
A new
patch for Company of Heroes has been released, updating the Relic-THQ
WWII RTS game to version 1.71. The 9.7MB update offers crash and memory leak
fixes, and also takes care of two DirectX10 rendering bugs. The patch is

- Space Force: Rogue Universe Patch v1.1 -
New patches are now available for Space Force: Rogue Universe, updating
the various language editions of the Provox Games' space combat game to
version 1.1
- Sam And Max Season Two Announced - Telltale Games has officially
announced that they indeed will launch a second season of their humor
adventure game series
Sam and Max.
Like the first season, the second round of episodes will debut on the
Gametap game download service before being made available for individual
downloads by Telltale. The second season will begin this fall but there is
no word on how many episodes it will run.
- Heroes Game Confirmed -
This Hollywood Reporter story confirms the rumors that UbiSoft will
indeed release a PC-console game based on Heroes, the cult hit super hero
themed TV series. The game will tie into events in the TV series and will be
released as early as late 2008.
- Entropia gets Cryengine 2 - Entropia Universe, the 3D virtual
world with its own economy from developer Minkark,
will
use Cryengine 2 from developer Crytek. The upgrade to Entropia
Universe's engine is expected to be made by mid-2008.
- Boll 'Tunnels' Into Game Business - Boll filmed Tunnel Rats, an
original Vietnam war movie set in 1967, earlier this year in South Africa.
He's financing a new first-person shooter based on the film, which
German developer Replay
Studios is currently creating using its internal Replay Engine most
recently seen at E3 in the new WWII game Sabotage at Gamecock's Hotel
California suite. Tunnel Rats will ship for Xbox 360 and PC.
- Left 4 Dead at Quake Con - Valve just sent us a press release
announcing that Left 4 Dead,
the forthcoming survival co-op game from Turtle Rock Studios, will be shown
at QuakeCon 2007 in
Dallas, Texas August 2nd thru 5th. The game will be playable by attendees
and members of the design team will be on hand to answer questions about
this much-awaited title coming soon to the PC and Xbox 360.
- Crysis To Support Punkbuster -
The Even Balance website has announcement that the upcoming Crytek-EA
first person shooter Crysis will become the latest game that will support
the company's Punkbuster online anti-cheating technology.
- Hellgate London Beta Signups -
Hellgate Resistance is now taking sign-ups to be alerted to pre-order
the upcoming action-RPG from Flagship Studios. Word is: "Signing up for the
pre-order will also automatically register your name on the waiting list for
the Hellgate: London beta test." There's no word on when the beta test will
begin.
- EA To Use Microsoft's Massive For In-Game Ads -
Massive will delivery in-game ads to a number of EA Sports titles this
year, including Madden NFL 08, NASCAR O8, NHL O8, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08
and the new skateboarding game Skate
