- Age Of Empires Online Details - The
game will be free-to-play, and will feature persistent
civilizations that can be cultivated over time. Players will also be
able to purchase Premium Civilization upgrades to unlock all of a
civilization's abilities at once, including special "star techs"
abilities on its tech tree.

- Magicka Demo - Paradox Interactive
today announced that action-adventure game Magicka
is now available for download on all major digital distribution
channels. A demo of the game is also
available on Steam.
- Fallout: New Vegas & Fallout 3 DLC Concept
Art - Concept artist Wesley Burt has released a bunch of pieces he did for
Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3.
- King's Quest III Redux Coming in February - AGD
Interactive, the team behind some classic Sierra 'remakes' like
Quest for Glory 2 and King's Quest I & II, have announced they
are
going to be releasing Kings
Quest III Redux next month. Like the
previous titles, it'll be completely free to download and run on
whatever computer you'd like but get this, they've been working on it
for eight years
- Dead Space 2 Ships - EA announces the
release of Dead Space 2 in North America, saying the survival/horror
shooter sequel is due in Europe on January 28. In addition, EA released
Dead Space iOS today, a surprisingly accurate facsimile of the console
versions for the iPhone ($6.99) and iPad ($9.99).
- Two Worlds II Royal Edition limited to 5,000 units
for North America - The Two Worlds II Royal Edition is
limited to 5,000 units in North America, and only available from
Amazon.com (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) and GameStop.com (Xbox 360, PS3). The
Royal Edition packs exclusive in-game content (like the amazing Dragon
Scale Armor!) and details on Two Worlds II‘s development with concept
art and making-of DVD.
- Direct2Drive Launches Download Rental Scheme - Digital
distributor Direct2Drive quietly launched a rental scheme
for downloadable PC games last week, though so far it's looking
somewhat less than inspiring. D2D charges $5 for five hours of
playtime, then if you want to keep the game, your $5 will be knocked
off its price.
- Dark Reign added to GOG.com - Dark Reign, published by
Activision and developed by Auran, was first released back in 1997 at
the height of the RTS genre's popularity. The GOG.com version includes
both the main game and its expansion pack The Rise of the Shadowland.
It was one of the first RTS games to have full 3D terrain features
along with being able to select specific behaviors to your units. The
game is now available to purchase for $9.99.
