  • Age Of Empires Online Details - The game will be free-to-play, and will feature persistent civilizations that can be cultivated over time. Players will also be able to purchase Premium Civilization upgrades to unlock all of a civilization's abilities at once, including special "star techs" abilities on its tech tree.
  • Dragon Age II Unlocks in Dragon Age Legends - The BioWare Blog offers more details of Dragon Age Legends, the upcoming Dragon Age Facebook game that ties in with Dragon Age II, EA's role-playing sequel.
  • Custom StarCraft II Games Beta - Battle.net has details on three new custom games now undergoing beta testing in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty, Blizzard's real-time strategy sequel
  • Magicka Demo - Paradox Interactive today announced that action-adventure game Magicka is now available for download on all major digital distribution channels. A demo of the game is also available on Steam.
  • Fallout: New Vegas & Fallout 3 DLC Concept Art - Concept artist Wesley Burt has released a bunch of pieces he did for Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3.
  • King's Quest III Redux Coming in February - AGD Interactive, the team behind some classic Sierra 'remakes' like Quest for Glory 2 and King's Quest I & II, have announced they are going to be releasing Kings Quest III Redux next month. Like the previous titles, it'll be completely free to download and run on whatever computer you'd like but get this, they've been working on it for eight years
  • Dead Space 2 Ships - EA announces the release of Dead Space 2 in North America, saying the survival/horror shooter sequel is due in Europe on January 28. In addition, EA released Dead Space iOS today, a surprisingly accurate facsimile of the console versions for the iPhone ($6.99) and iPad ($9.99).
  • Two Worlds II Royal Edition limited to 5,000 units for North America - The Two Worlds II Royal Edition is limited to 5,000 units in North America, and only available from Amazon.com (Xbox 360, PS3, PC) and GameStop.com (Xbox 360, PS3). The Royal Edition packs exclusive in-game content (like the amazing Dragon Scale Armor!) and details on Two Worlds II‘s development with concept art and making-of DVD.
  • Direct2Drive Launches Download Rental Scheme - Digital distributor Direct2Drive quietly launched a rental scheme for downloadable PC games last week, though so far it's looking somewhat less than inspiring. D2D charges $5 for five hours of playtime, then if you want to keep the game, your $5 will be knocked off its price.
  • Dark Reign added to GOG.com - Dark Reign, published by Activision and developed by Auran, was first released back in 1997 at the height of the RTS genre's popularity. The GOG.com version includes both the main game and its expansion pack The Rise of the Shadowland. It was one of the first RTS games to have full 3D terrain features along with being able to select specific behaviors to your units. The game is now available to purchase for $9.99.
