Nightly Reading - Codemasters developing new FPS - briefly
(hx) 03:23 AM CET - Feb,16 2010 - Post a comment / read (6)
  • Bioshock 2 - video-review - IGN has laid out a video review of Bioshock 2 (9.1/10). They wrote: "Anyone looking for a first-person shooter that offers more than flat, stereotypical characters and copy-and-paste supersoldier plots, one that attempts to establish a sense of right and wrong and loops you into the decision making process, and one that's set in one of the most vividly realized settings around should pick up BioShock 2. It's a game in which story, setting, and gameplay are expertly blended to create an experience that's as thought-provoking as it is entertaining."
  • Codemasters developing new unnamed first person shooter - C&VG reports that the UK-based publisher is in fact working on an all new first person shooter title at their in-house Guildford development studio. Could this be to Black what Perfect Dark was to GoldenEye?
  • Fable III Developer Diary - Check out some of the first details and glimpse the game to come from Peter Molyneux and company.
  • Halo: Reach video documentary - Bungie has released its first Halo: Reach video documentary (ViDoc). The video is a must watch for all Halo fans.
  • Splinter Cell: Conviction shows off mansion level - A new video of the Mansion level from Splinter Cell: Conviction released today. This is apparently the first mission of the game, which, by the way, is coming out April 13.
  • Hackers set sights on Modern Warfare Reflex - As you can see from this video, hackers have managed to wreck havoc on the game!
  • Spellforce 2: Faith in Destiny Release Date & Shots - JoWood has posted up a press release and a couple of screenshots for Spellforce 2: Faith in Destiny. Word is: "Designed as a standalone extension to 'SpellForce 2', the game will pick up on the predecessor's widely praised story set in the well-known SpellForce fantasy universe. A multitude of new features, among them new units, buildings, spells and missions have been added in order to meet the high expectations towards a SpellForce add-on. The add-on's story revolves around a mysterious force threatening the SpellForce world Eo. Playing as a powerful hero, you will help the Shaikan forge an alliance with others in order to oppose the rising threat and end the danger that threatens entire world!"
  • Stargate Resistance has launched - Stargate Resistance is a fast-paced and deadly 3rd person shooter for control of the entire galaxy! The arrogant System Lords believe they are the true masters of the universe, and have begun a savage campaign to dominate and enslave the known worlds. Stargate Command operatives are the first line of defense against this menace. Small teams of brave agents use the Stargate to travel about the galaxy and parry the thrust of these alien overlords. Whichever side you choose, each battle will be one of wits, skill, and reflexes that can decide the fate of the entire galaxy! The game is available on Direct2Drive (Advanced Combat Pack) and Steam
  • Pirates, Vikings, and Knights 2.3 Released on Steam - Redesigned significantly based on community input and concerns 2.3 features the same team based first-person melee (->Steam) that PVK2 has always been known for with a comprehensively rebalanced directional attacking, blocking, and parrying system:
  • Human Error HL2 mod Released - A single-player Half-Life 2 mod revolving around the idea that some Humans joined the Combine, called Human Error, has finally been released.
  • Mount&Blade - Warband Multiplayer Beta - I'm not sure when this opened up and I can't find the full announcement but download links can be found here.
  • Free game offers with pre-orders on Steam announced - Those of you who pre-order Relic's upcoming Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War II Chaos Rising will get to download the PC port of Saints Row 2 for free. Yet another pre-order offer launched today is for Necrovision: Lost Company, a sequel to 2009's first person shooter from developer The Farm 51 and publisher 1C Company.,
  • Battelfield 1943 only 800 MS Points this week - EA is running a discount on the downloadable multiplayer title Battlefield 1943, which this week only retails for 800 MS points, or $10 (instead of the usual $15).
  • Plants vs. Zombies iPhone Hits at $2.99 - As promised, the long-awaited iPhone and iPod touch rendition of PopCap's lawn defense force sensation Plants vs. Zombies is now available through iTunes.

I think what's bigger news is not that someone hacked a Wii game, but that anyone decided to play the Wii online.

Tom(06:41 PM CET - Feb,16 2010 )
Are you done talking from your butt hole fella? The Wii is the most popular console on the planet. The only one that surpasses it because more of time on market is PS2. A number of Wii products are nearly impossible to get because they cannot produce enough to satisfy the numbers! But yet, you like to show everyone, like Stumpus and Koogle that you are a fucktard too and know jack shit but to put out some mindless dribble. Good one. I'll just add you to the list of morons.

Tom has a moron list? :D -lol And I thought he was the moron.

"I think what's bigger news is not that someone hacked a Wii game, but that anyone decided to play the Wii online."

lol.. that is funny, what is mindless about that? the only mindless dribble I see is coming from you Tom, everyone knows the Wii is popular but then everyone with a brain also knows that most people who own a Wii aren't exactly the most clued up of people or gamers for that matter, they just want something that is easy with simple to understand games and controls to play casually if at all.

Tom just because those consoles are popular because of their appeal in price point, availability in other regions and games to a bigger audience doesn't mean that it can't be shit to someone with better taste and understanding of what is wrong with it. Why can't you handle someone knocking something that is already popular with a mass of well noobzzz

Or would you prefer if everyone just came down to your standard of accepting inferior shit just because a mainstream audience was ignorant and happy with it?

Yeah scary indeed. Now Tom's keeping 'scores'. FFS Tom, get a life eh? Everybody on the planet has a differing opinion to you, it's just that you're too busy looking in the mirror to notice!
Games,Films, hardware even food are ALL subjective.
Sorry that i can't agree with you, but you've just gone lower than the lowest because -you sad case- keeps a scratch post on people he doesn't agree with............... Your XXXX through and through, and yes, he too came from Canada. I thought they broke the mould after him too!

I have a Wii. Their online gaming is a joke. About the only thing that's good on it is the homebrew support.
