Guys at Action Vault has conducted an interview with Strategy First's lead artist Randy Humphries as he talks about Nexagon: The Pit. their upcoming action-strategy title. Here is a taster:
Action Vault: What kind of basic gameplay experience will players receive, and since you've mentioned a few different elements up to now, how would you classify Nexagon in terms of genre or genre mix?
Randy Humphries: Nexagon, the gameplay experience: Fast paced, small squad, tactical combat, combined with pre-game planning and strategizing. As brief as that explanation is, it is accurate. After taking the time to build up defenses and purchase the right units to mount a successful offensive strike, the player will enter the actual match where he must think fast to capitalize on the events of the game as they unfold. Win or lose, and it will be back to the sanctum he goes to lick his wounds and begin planning for the next match.
Although we have worked hard to make Nexagon a unique gaming experience, it is probably best categorized as a real-time tactical game. [more]
