New processors will only work with Windows 10

Soon, when you buy
a new PC, it won't support Windows 7 or 8
. Microsoft has announced a change to its support policy that lays out its plans for future updates to its older operating systems, and the new rules mean that future PC owners with next-generation Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm processors will need to use Windows 10. This new policy doesn't mean that Windows 7 and 8.1 are no longer supported in general. The two operating systems will continue to get updates through January 14th, 2020 and January 10th, 2023, respectively. But that's only if you're using hardware that was contemporaneous with those operating systems.
Sure, PC users can use WSUS offline as a workaround. Still, those wishing to upgrade to newers CPUs will now also have to think about the cost of upgrading their operating systems!

No need for Csimbi or Koogle to worry though, you can continue using Window 98. I kid you not here's Csimbi's MS watch

It's a different meaning of "support" anyway - it'll most likely work (it's x86_64 after all) but you're on your own.

I wonder if MS and Intel made an agreement in the background to stimulate Intel's sales.
Very illegal here, so they can both can f off.
I don't think it's doable though because all those OEM PCs/laptop sold a while ago say 'Windows 7 compatible', lol
@Tom
Great find!
You are putting into this much mire effort than I am putting into disregarding Win10.

I thought you'd like that. :lol:
Of course all hardware companies are taking advantage. PC users today are total fucking idiots who will bend over and accept anything. Duh Duh Duh Tom's Hardware says it's good. Oh look PC Magazine says it's worth it! Oh I better go buy buy buy!! Or you remember Stumpus, captain fucking ego goes and replaces still good hardware just so he can gloat somewhere.
So Stumpus...

Except something like a $650-750 1080Ti is actually ready for 8K since it plays 4K exceptionally well so it will last a few years OR you just keep your rez @ 4K for many more years as game tech progresses. I don't think we're in the business to replace high-end h/w every 2 years: its meant to last much longer keeping in mind what is good enough over a period.

So, Intel and AMD wont make a driver of their own to support a potential buyer that doesn't want to buy a new windows? lel

Lots buy it with no thought of 4K or 8K.
