PS2Faction has posted some new screenshots of Maelstrom, Virgin Interactive's upcoming 1st-person shooter/space combat hybrid. Maelstrom Features:

Amazing space combat coupled with superb first-person action
20 single-player missions
5 massive multiplayer maps
Comic-book-style visuals from one the UK's most respected artists
Superb plot penned by Judge Dredd writer, Robbie Morrison
Lead your clan of pirate recruits through in-depth and engaging missions

Scheduled for release Christmas 2001 for PlayStation 2, and later on other next-gen consoles in 2002. Maelstrom will be the first title to hail from Virgin's revamped internal development department. [more]
