The game is basically a persistant universe that takes place in the 3025 timeline of the Battletech history. You join one of the 5 noble houses that are in whats called the "inner sphere" (human occupied space). The houses have been at war for some time . Your house tries to capture other planets to receive goal points. Goal points allows you to upgrade to better mechs. Planets on the periphery are light-classed mechs and get heavier the closer you get to the capital planet of each respective area. the game isnt as ambitious as it was slated to be originally because Kesmai (3025's first developer) couldnt get the interface to work with the battle shell. It was supposed to have ranks with house leaders, strategists, etc.. [more]
