Seriously! has posted some new screenshots of Negative Space, the upcoming shooter from developer Khaeon (Alpha Black Zero makers). Negative Space is an isometric shooter (a viewpoint similar to that of Neverwinter Nights) using a highly modified and improved version of the Serious Engine Thy also have some more information on the story:

It is the year 2250, somewhere in space the huge dreadnaught class UESC-Katsuragi is making its way topwards the distant planet of Caprice-12. Aboard the ship are space marines in the employment of a nameless galactic coorporation simply known as "the Company".

The marines, under leadership of Lieutenant Mossback and the Company android Shepherd, are intent on destroying Neo-Commie rebels belonging to the Free Economy Liberation League, who have been infiltrating the major settlements on Caprice-12. These settlements - and the rest of the terraformed colony - are the property of the Company, and it wants its investment protected. Upon arrival, Shepherd notes that there are no detectable human lifesigns on the planet, but that the surface is crawling with aliens.

While Ltn. Mossback is in favor of calling the guys over at the Companies Repo devision, letting them clear out Caprice-12 with planetbuster nukes, Shepherd has already contacted Company HQ. It's Weapons Division requests that the marines go down there to collect bug specimens for further study.

It is all in regular days work for Mossback and his marines, so they drop down to the largest settlement on the rugged surface of Caprice-12 and begin a routine sweep of the facility: hunting bugs. Something they have done a hundred times before.

The character cast consists of four marines, two pilots and a company android. The marines are Ltn. Mossback (the leader of the group), Pvt. Kuchera (resident surfboy, also called "90210"), Pvt. Speers (convicted murderer on the run), and Pvt. Hickox. Both pilots; Kurtz and Bryant, keep themselves somewhat secluded from the group. Kurtz is the senior pilot, operating all major controls of the Katsuragi's aircrafts. Shepherd is the Company Android. He is aware of every request and operational parameter of the mission. He functions as the eyes and ears of the Company and is responsible for almost all-logistical aspects of the mission. He is not much liked by the rest of the Kasturagi's crew.

oh look bump mapping here too! and the models look just as good as Doom 3 if not better... oh oh. i have since talked with a developer about doom3, the maps have very little bump mapping if any and as i said, close up disappear. the models however have a lot of bump mapping if you look closely at the faces. Other than that, doom 3 is more poor use of dynamic lighting and heavy usage of pixel shaders both on models and in the maps. what people were showing in the screen capture where i believed was bump mapping, that's not bump mapping, it's pixel shading. so we are back at the start and i dont care to continue with the arguement since i was right from the start.

xxxx mate, relax with the Doom 3 stuff, no offense to you. I respect that you have an opinion and I did find some of the stuff in the other thread interesting to read, but for most of us less bothered types we are starting to get a head-ache :(
Try to keep it to one thread, I hope you don't start to preach it whenever you see something better than Doom 3 to take another pop at it.
and yeah, this game does look pretty cool :wink:

game does look cool can't wait to see more. no, but my point of doom 3 not lasting, you can see for yourself here it's already begun.. carmack might have gotten his game out with it all but it's just a teaser for what we will all see very shortly. most of my posts in the last thread were 100% correct and my friends told me to shut up because it doesn't matter if you paint the truth on the great china wall, nobody will have the sense to really notice anyhow..i got nothing to say on doom 3 anymore, i'll let the upcomming games take over for me and slowly fill in the accuracy of my comments. not like it will change anything. 8)
