- Post a comment The coincide with the NBA free agency season kicking off, 2K Games and Visual Concepts today announced this year’s edition of its annual basketball sim, NBA 2K20.
NBA 2K20 will once again launch in September this year with its specific release date being that of September 6. Per usual, NBA 2K20 will be released in multiple different editions that will net you different goodies depending on how much money you’re looking to drop. The Standard Edition will set you back $59.99, the Digital Deluxe Edition will cost $79.99, and the Legend Edition will retail for $99.99. You can see what extras will come with each version by clicking here.
As for the cover athletes this year, Anthony Davis, the new Los Angeles Lakers star, will don the game’s standard edition box art. This is the second time that Davis has appeared on the cover of an NBA 2K game after previously sharing the cover art with James Harden and Steph Curry for NBA 2K16. “Being picked as the face of NBA 2K20 means the world to me, and I’m excited for the fans to experience the best sports simulation in the world this Fall,” Davis said in a statement.
This year’s Legend Edition cover art belongs to that of Dwyane Wade, who just recently retired this past season. This marks the first time that Wade has ever appeared on the cover of an NBA 2K game, which is kind of crazy. The box art featuring Wade sees him wearing the black and pink Vice jerseys that the Miami Heat don on occasion. NBA 2K20 hits store shelves on September 6 for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
