Here is a new list of my favorite software:

7-Zip - Open source Windows utility for manipulating archives. Formats 7z, ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2 and TAR are supported fully, other formats can be unpacked.
Adobe Reader - Adobe Reader software is the global standard for electronic document sharing. It is the only PDF file viewer that can open and interact with all PDF documents. Use Adobe Reader to view, search, digitally sign, verify, print, and collaborate on Adobe PDF files.
Alcohol 120% - Alcohol 120%, is a powerful Windows CD and DVD burning software that makes it easy to create backups of DVDs* and CDs. Additionaly, the program lets you store your most used CD/DVDss as images on your computer, and you can mount them on 1 of the 31 virtual drives with a click of a button.
Altaro Hyper-V Backup - Altaro Hyper-V Backup is the easiest to use, quickest to set up and most competitively priced Hyper-V backup software around. ESET NOD32 - Fast, powerful antivirus with Anti-Phishing to counter all forms of threats. It's not free, but it's worth your money.
FileZilla - FileZilla Client is a fast and reliable cross-platform FTP, FTPS and SFTP client with lots of useful features and an intuitive graphical user interface.
Firefox - Firefox Web Browser is the faster, more secure, and fully customizable way to surf the web.
FRAPS - Fraps is a universal Windows application that can be used with games using DirectX or OpenGL graphic technology.
Google Chrome - The fast, free browser that's built for the modern web.
HDDScan - HDDScan is a freeware utility for hard drive diagnostics (RAID arrays, Flash USB and SSD drives are also supported). The program can test storage device for errors (Bad-blocks and bad sectors), show S.M.A.R.T. attributes and change some HDD parameters such as AAM, APM, etc.
ImgBurn - ImgBurn supports a wide range of image file formats - including BIN, CUE, DI, DVD, GI, IMG, ISO, MDS, NRG and PDI. It can burn Audio CD's from any file type supported via DirectShow / ACM - including AAC, APE, FLAC, M4A, MP3, MP4, MPC, OGG, PCM, WAV, WMA and WV. You can use it to build DVD Video discs (from a VIDEO_TS folder), HD DVD Video discs (from a HVDVD_TS folder) and Blu-ray Video discs (from a BDAV / BDMV folder) with ease.
InfraRecorder - InfraRecorder is a free application to burn CDs and DVDs. FYI, CDXPBurner includes too many Adware :-(
Magic ISO Maker - MagicISO Maker is a CD/DVD-image-file editor, CD/DVD burner, and CD/DVD-backup tool. It can directly create, edit, extract, and burn ISO files. It also can convert almost all CD and DVD image formats to ISO and BIN/CUE. With MagicISO, you can handle DVD images up to 10GB, make them bootable etc.
Malwarebytes Anti-Malware - Malwarebytes Anti-Malware's industry-leading scanner detects and removes malware like worms, Trojans, rootkits, rogues, spyware, and more
PSPad - PSPad is a freeware programmer's editor for Microsoft Windows operating systems, useful for people who work with various programming environments and like highlighted syntax in their source code.
RogueKiller - RogueKiller is an anti-malware program written in C++ and able to detect and remove generic malwares and some advanced threats such as rootkits, rogues, worms,
Skype - With Skype you can make free calls over the internet to other people on Skype for as long as you like, to wherever you like. It is free to download.
Snapshot - SnapShot is disk imaging software that enables the user to back up, restore and view backed up hard disk data, easily and safely. If you need more features, so then I recommend you Acronis Backup & Recovery
Team Viewer - Remote control any computer or Mac over the internet within seconds or use TeamViewer for online meetings.
Total Commander - Total Commander is a file manager replacement that offers multiple language support, search, file comparison, directory synchronization, quick view panel with bitmap display, ZIP, ARJ, LZH, RAR, UC2, TAR, GZ, CAB, ACE archive handling plus plugins, built-in FTP client with FXP, HTTP proxy support, and more + *.ISO plugin
Thunderbird - Thunderbird is a free, open source, cross-platform e-mail and news client developed by the Mozilla Foundation + Mozilla Backup
Ultimate Windows Tweaker 4 for Windows 10 - This tweaking software adds several new tweaks for the new operating system. Those of you who have upgraded to Windows 10, would definitely want to use it to judiciously tweak your Windows 10 and personalize your computing experience. StartIsBack - real start menu for Windows 8.1, Windows 10 - The missing Windows 8 start menu is back. Get the most useful and authentic start menu for Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10. Personally I prefer this tool though it's not free ($2.99/PC). If don't want to pay so use ClassicShell
Tor Browser - Tor Browser lets you use Tor on Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux without needing to install any software. It can run off a USB flash drive, comes with a pre-configured web browser to protect your anonymity, and is self-contained (portable).
WinRar - WinRAR is a Windows data compression tool that focuses on the RAR and ZIP data compression formats for all Windows users.
WinSCP - WinSCP is an open source free SFTP client, FTP client, WebDAV client and SCP client for Windows

http://www.macrium.com/reflectfree.aspx should be a solid alternative to Drive Snapshot. Free, too. Also, notepad++ is a killer free text editor with syntax highlighting and more. PDFCreator is a great print-to-PDF solution too. All the above are in the free category.
