- Torino 2006 announced -
2K Sports announced
plans to release Torino
2006 - the Official Video Game of the XX Olympic Winter Games. Word is:
"featuring eight winter sports, 15 thrilling events, extraordinary wintry
landscapes and authentic commentator analysis, Torino 2006TM gives gamers the
chance to participate in one of the most exciting sporting events of 2006.
With a multiplayer mode for up to four players, gamers can compete
head-to-head or in turn-based play that simulates the global stage of one of
the most exciting sporting events in 2006." Torino 2006 will be available in
North America and Europe in January 2006 for the PC, PS2 and Xbox.
- Star Wolves 2 announced -
The Frogster Interactive website (->Babelfished
page) has word from the German publisher of plans for Star Wolves 2, a
sequel to Xbow Software's space combat RPG. (thanks

- Gothic 3 shots - According to the fansite Jowood-News
three new screenshots as well as three rendered artworks have been
released.
- Battlefield 2 Special Forces preview -
PC.IGN
posted up a nice preview and included a bunch of
new screenshots and
21 gameplay movies.
- The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe German
demo -
A
German playable demo for The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and
The Wardrobe has been released. This demo contains two separate levels, but
it's entirely in German. The demo can also be found on
3DGamers and
FileFront.
- Alien Arena 2006 mini-patch -
A patch has been issued
for Alien Arena 2006, the freeware online deathmatch game from COR
Entertainment. This patch is a prelude to the next version of the game, which
will be released in the not to distant future, and includes new
alt-fires(every weapon now has one), and greatly enhanced bot AI. Easy skill
level bots are now considerably easier for the novices, and the harder skill
level bots have been made even more intelligent, and will use alt-fires in the
right situation, circle strafe with certain weapons, taunt you mercilessly, as
well as rocket and strafe jump about the levels.
- Land Of The Dead: Road To Fiddler's Green Patch v1.1 -
The
patch for the movie based zombie first person action game from Brainbox
Games and Groove Games contains three new multiplayer maps, a level editor and
a number of bug fixes.
- SWAT 4 Map Pack - Sierra has released
a Quick Mission Map Pack for SWAT 4 (3MB). The package contains eight maps
for SWAT4 created by the VU Games QA Department.
- Civilization IV Patch Soon -
The patch is going to be released pretty soon [anytime now], and is
currently going final QA testing on the 2K Games offices.

A free trial version of Fish
Tycoon is available for download and the full version of the game can be
purchased for $19.95.
- [!] F.E.A.R. To Get Punkbuster - The official Even Balance website
has announced that its
Punkbuster multiplayer anti-cheat software will be used by F.E.A.R., the
recent first person shooter from Monolith. The Punkbuster features will be
included in an upcoming patch for the game.

Hackshield, a new
tool for game developers to keep out hackers in online games.
