development experience has been limited to only one game, Meridian 59, he's
done so much with that one title that he has knowledge most designers and
developers wouldn't even begin to perceive.
- Crysis - 17 Minute Gameplay Video from CHIP Online - CHIP Online
have delivered on what they had promised.
A much better quality version of the original 17 minute gameplay video
is now available. If you haven't watched the lower quality version yet, then
you can expect to see a lot of blood, explosions, gunfire and lumberjacking
in
this video.

- C&C3 v1.05 Patch Plans/Update - EA's online community manager
APOC has issued
a new statement on the official C&C3 Forums concerning the C&C3 patch
V1.05. In short, no patch until sometime next week.

Smoking Guns Studios
was founded by John Johnson, Angie Radwan-Pytlewski, and Drew Dunlop, all
formerly of Relic.
- 300 & Saw Games Planned - Brash game for Hollywood on Variety.com
has word on current game plans from
startup publisher Brash's plans for a dozen movie tie-in games. Though
the story doesn't go into specifics, it does offer news on plans for games
related to both 300 and the Saw series.
- GameTap Launches Free Service - The monthly game download service
GameTap has officially
launched its free service, offering people a way to play around 30 games in
its library of 900 titles for free.
- Wii on your PC - Tutorial Videos - TheRiddler24 has put up a
series of
how-to videos for GlovePie, a piece of software used for connecting to
and interpreting commands from Wii remotes.
- Four More Wii Virtual Console Games Released -
The games this week are the NES titles Zelda II - The Adventure of Link
and Milon's Secret Castle (500 Wii points), the Sega Genesis game ToeJam &
Earl in Panic on Funkotron (800 Wii points) and the TurboGrafx16 game Dead
Moon (800 Wii points).
- Wii Outsells PS3 By 5 To 1 In Japan - GameSpot is reporting that
the latest console hardware sales figures from Japan show Nintendo's Wii
console firming in the lead with 251,794 units sold in May. While specific
sales figures were not mentioned the PS3 is said to be behind
Wii sales in Japan by about a 5 to 1 ratio (50,000 units or so).
- GoW Definitely Not Coming to PS3 - Recently some some rumors
started appearing, about Epic Games having problems Microsoft and that that
may end in Gears of War being released also on PS3.
Mark Rein squashed that rumor with one straight forward reply: "This
story is complete bull****. I emailed the site and asked them to take it
down. We're very happy with our relationship with Microsoft. If it weren't
for them Gears wouldn't be the huge hit it has become."

- Jack Thompson Declines PAX Debate Offer -
GamePolitics reports that anti-video game activist Jack Thompson has
declined an offer by the organisers of this August's Penny Arcade Expo to
debate a member of the games industry. PAX organisers had been wanting to
keep the debate a secret for security purposes until one hour before the
event took place but Thompson apparently backed out because of that feature,
saying that keeping the debate a secret was somehow a violation of the First
Amendment.
