- The King of Fighters XV have been officially announced -
SNK and Arc System Works have officially announced The King of Fighters
XV and the next part in the Guilty Gear series. The
teaser trailer for The King of Fighters XV does not show much other
than the game's title. As such, I don’t know when and on which
platforms it will release, what fighters it will feature, whether it
will come with better visuals, etc.On the other hand, the
teaser trailer for the new Guilty Gear game shows some gameplay
footage.
- Infinity Ward's focus isn't on battle royale, Call of Duty:
Modern Warfare multiplayer design director says - IGN
asked Infinity Ward's multiplayer design director Joe Cecot,
whether it would and he replied that though the designers are "big fans
of battle royale" that's not what they're working on. "We're excited
for large player counts and things like that, but right now we're
really focused on core multiplayer." Which is not a definitive no, but
suggests it might be on the backburner. Black Ops 4 introduced a
battle royale mode called Blackout to the series, but Cecot described
the latest entry in the series as being quite different. "We really
focused on Modern Warfare, authentic and gritty, realistic weapons, and
it’s a different experience. It's really...just about pulling back to
Modern Warfare and keeping that pure," he said.
- Cyberpunk 2077 won't include a digital card game - After
speculation, CD Projekt Red confirmed that Cyberpunk 2077 won’t
go the way of The Witcher 3 and include a digital card game. This is
despite its recent announcement of a physical Afterlife game and the
existence of the Netrunner, set in its universe. Speaking on Reddit, CDPR's
Rafal Jacki told users that the studio is instead focusing on its
new, standalone card game experience. "Sorry all but we are not doing
Netrunner in any way – I’m a fan of the game myself but we decided to
create something new and stand alone. No plans to have a card game in
the Cyberpunk 2077 video game," he says.
- Roblox surges past Minecraft to reach 100 million monthly
players - Roblox recently announced the milestone of 100 million active
monthly
players, which puts it 9 million ahead of Minecraft. To celebrate, its
developer is giving away a free gold bar shoulder accessory.
- BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle Version 2.0 Announced - A
"Version 2.0 Content Pack" will release on November 21, 2019, and will
eventually include nine new fighters. This news comes hot on the heels
of the announcement of a new update
for Under Night In-Birth. It’s a good time to be a
fan of anime fighting games. The new characters for Version 2.0 seem to
be releasing in waves, however, and only the first four will release in
November. The eclectic group includes Yumi from Senran Kagura
Estival Versus, Neo Politan from RWBY, and finally
Akatsuki and Blitztank–both from Akatsuki Blitzkampf. The
announcement trailer briefly demos all four of them. The first featured
character is Yumi, and then Akatsuki and the gargantuan Blitztank take
the stage. After a teaser ending, the trailer shows off Neo Politan
from RWBY. Yumi uses fans that pack some cool ice and wind damage, and
looks to be a fighter capable of doing damage from all ranges. Akatsuki
has electric attacks, and he seems like the same rush-down menace he is
in Under Night In-Birth. Blitztank is maybe the most
outlandish fighting game game character of all time. He is humongous,
has a skull head, and shoots lasers. Goodness gracious. Neo is an agile
fighter. She dodges around her enemy and counterattacks with a bladed
umbrella. The new character pack seems to be a paid DLC, but the "Ver.
2.0 Patch" will be free for everyone who owns BlazBlue: Cross Tag
Battle. The patch will feature a brand new scenario, new character
interactions, and new colors. You can see some of these new
interactions in the trailer. The PC, PS4, and and Nintendo Switch
versions of BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will all receive the
update when it goes live on November 21.

- Exodemon Review (PC) - In Exodemon your body has been
taken over by an alien creature. The being uses two claws, one to shoot
and one to slash. Taken over by pure instinct you now run around
laboratories, cities, and even sewers killing an array of creatures
that are trying to prevent your escape. The game is a first-person shooter that mixed a
pixel art aesthetic into a 3D environment.
- Here's why Nintendo Switch consoles keep frying - There is
one area in which the rumors of Switches getting bricked due to
proprietary, non-standard Nintendo design is correct, however. Nintendo
wanted the Switch to slide very smoothly in and out of its dock-but the
USB-C mechanical design spec doesn't allow for that. So Nintendo's own dock for the Switch is very slightly
narrower than the USB-C standard in order to provide the desired
smooth slide instead of the usual snug click. Third parties want to
emulate that mechanical feel as closely as possible, but there's no
published standard-they basically just take a stab at it and hope for
the best. Given that the standard already has pins spaced only 0.5mm
apart, even a slight design or manufacturing defect is likely to cause
a port to fail. If the port fails open-meaning pins just don't make
electrical contact-there's usually no real harm done. But if they fail
short-meaning pins are bridged electrically to pins they have no
business connecting to-you may easily overvolt a pin. Remember that 6V
absolute maximum rating on the Configuration Channel of the Switch's
USB-C PD chip? Well, it's only 0.5mm away from the VBus (main power
line), which carries 15V. Finally, you may brick your Switch if you use
USB-C to USB-A adapter cables. There are two variants of the cable; one
with a 10K ohm resistor, and one with a 56K ohm resistor. This isn't
directly dangerous to the Switch itself, but using a 10K ohm cable with
a low-powered USB-A charger may overload it, damaging the charger-and a
damaged charger could produce unexpected voltage on an output pin,
which might in turn damage the Switch as well.
