(hx) 10:57 AM CEST - Apr,13 2009
- Post a comment / read (3) I realize that everyone doesn't celebrate this holiday, but for those who do Happy Easter.
- Prototype Preview - C&VG has
posted a preview of Radical
Entertainment's upcoming sci-fi action game, Prototype. "Levels
progress as the storyline feeds you information about your past and
your mutation through the game's Web of Intrigue mechanic, leading you
around the city intent on consuming the prime players in the
conspiracy, and those around them, who have information to consume
alongside their DNA and a resulting health boost. As the story
continues, with Mercer's sister filling in plot gaps from her hideout
(where she sits at her laptop keeping on top of events), the Infection
spreads and develops throughout New York, creating ever more grizzly
foes for our (anti)hero to contend with."
- id's Todd Hollenshead Discusses Rage, Doom 4,
Quake Live - id's
CEO, Todd Hollenshead, sat down with the crew from GameSpot

dishes on Rage, Doom 4, Quake Live, id's new focus on multi-platform
gaming, and just why they don't want to work on the Wii.
- Star Trek Online screenshots - This
week three new screenshots from the game were posted on the official Star
Trek Online website. Two of the new shots are space based

- Leaked StarCraft II Details? - Battlet.net member Danny1992 discovered
changes on the Battle Report page. Many fans tried to simply
replace "battlereports/1.xml" by "battlereports/2.xml" which used to
redirect to an error page saying "You must construct additional
pylons," but the link now redirects back to Battle Report 1's page
instad. Additionally, the map for Battle Report 2 was found and is
named Blistering Sands. Very suitable style for a battle between Terran
and Zerg.

Negative Gamer is running a story discussing the need felt
by the major game developers to create the next huge blockbuster, which
often leads to innovation and change for their own sake rather than
simply focusing on what makes a game fun.
- Who Cares Whether DLC Is On The disc? - The latest mini-controversy over
downloadable content involves Resident Evil 5's online versus
mode. The actual amount of content downloaded for players' $5, 1.8 MB
on Xbox 360 and 351 KB on PS3, is so small that it has many wondering
if it's just a key to unlock content already on the disc. Capcom's
answer is that it's new code, though it does reuse assets on the disc.
But the real answer is: Who cares?
