- Driver Delayed Until 2011 - Driver: San
Francisco has been delayed until 2011, Ubisoft has confirmed. The open
world driving game had been due out in the UK on 26th November for PC,
PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. Ubisoft said the delay was due to "the
competitive market at Christmas".
- Arab Gamers Receive Their First Ever Soccer MMO,
X-Kick - X-Kick sports customization
features, a strong focus on team play, and various positions for each
player to enact out while on the field. The game has already started
its closed beta testing and will be free-to-play going into open beta
this upcoming August.
- FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) Release Date - Black
Bean Games today announced the final release date for WRC,
the official FIA World Rally Championship videogame. The game will be
out on all three platforms on October 8th, 2010.
- StarCraft II Upgrades Preview - The
StarCraft II Website has a new preview of the various upgrades
available to players of the single-player game in StarCraft II: Wings
of Liberty, Blizzard's upcoming real-time strategy sequel.
- APB Patch In The Works - In a new post on the official APB
site, Neil Castle acknowledges a huge number of issues, complaints and
suggestions covering all aspects of APB.
- Black Ops Pre-Orders Are Out Pacing MW2's - Activision
and Treyarch's upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops is seeing faster preorder pickup than
its Infinity Ward-created predecessor Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2,
according to Pacific Crest analyst Evan Wilson, who projects the game's
total holiday season sales at 12 million units.
- Could Star Trek Online turn into a free-to-play
game? - Back in early June, Turbine surprised everyone --
for the second time in a year -- by announcing that Lord of the Rings
Online would be moving to a free-to-play model akin to Dungeons and
Dragons Online.. Now we're hearing potential rumblings of another game
heading in that direction -- specifically, from Star Trek Online's new
Executive Producer Daniel Stahl. In the midst of a thread rather
unhappy with some of the answers from the most recent Ask Cryptic
outing, Stahl chimed in about Star Trek Online going
free-to-play. Stahl mentions that he could easily see
Cryptic's game adopting a similarly hybrid model, with the option for a
subscription as well as the option to pay as you play.
- Gray Matter Details Revealed - Gray
Matter, the upcoming adventure game written by Jane Jensen, who is
known for her Gabriel Knight adventure game series, will now be accompanied by an extravagant
soundtrack. Jensen's husband, Robert Holmes, who is composing
the music for the game, will team up with Germany-based sound company
Periscope Studio to create the soundtrack for the game. Gray Matter is
scheduled for release on 360 and PC in October 2010.
- Deus Ex Novel Announced - If you love
Deus Ex so much you will actually read a book set in its world, then
you'll be happy to know that Del Rey is publishing just that. DEUS EX:
THE ICARUS EFFECT will be written by author James Swallow and will
release in 2011.
- Warner Bros. Registers Multiple Batman Domains - Today,
Superannuation posted a list of recently acquired domain
names from the company, leading to some speculation that the studio is
toying with new titles for the upcoming sequel to the critical and
commercial smash-hit Batman: Arkham Asylum.
