Planet Medal of Honor visted the offices of EALA in Playa Vista, California to check out how Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault was coming along. The article does slightly cover some new topics, but not many as they're still not allowed to say much. Here's a taster:
Ed Moore then met up with me again and continued downstairs to the Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault testing room. The testing room was running a multiplayer build of the game, and I had a chance to sit down and play it. Although I can't release any details concerning multiplayer, it's coming along very, very well and won't be just an extra feature to Pacific Assault, but a whole different game all together. Being developed primarily by TKO Software (the developers behind Breakthrough), Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault multiplayer is getting all the attention it needs to be an awesome aspect of the overall package, especially with the inclusion of PunkBuster.

no it's not. It's PC. No different quality over the original MOH, just new maps and more animated sequences..worthless crap.

Guys, enough with all of this "Its only new maps and more animated sequences". First of all, i'd like to see you come up with an original game idea, and secondly, all games today pretty much use the same graphics engines with new maps and animated sequences so get used to it. And by the way, this game uses a new graphics engine so dont say that they are milking a dead game this game is strong and it will be that way forever.

I'd bet millions of people could come up with more original game ideas Jared. It's not a dead game you are right on that, but still, something that is more fresh and brings something new into gaming usually grows to become something that surpasses milked out titles. the engine doesn't look impressive at all, it looks like they're trying to catch up with the new boundaries that far cry set (bad luck to them) heh. the only thing that looks slightly flashy is the high contrast background bleeding through vegetation. when you say all games today use the same graphics engine, that's not entirely true, but telling us to get used to it is another way of convincing people to 'give up' on bothering game companies to put out something a little more creative. if we shut up about it, we leave it all up to them and they get no feedback from the consumers, sure technology will advance things, but they need to open their ears more to what people would like to play. a great example is interplay, fucking up fallout 3. oh and what ever happened to games coming out that dont need 4 or 5 patches after release? ... lazyness. i'm not being greedy here, it's a matter of preparing something properly for release. far cry could of been ten times better if it had a more optimised net-code with stable physics support, why on earth they never bothered with co-op is beyond me.

Bleh. This looks like much TV does--pre-digested and spat out for a market that will take anything thrown at it. Can you blame the publishers? The audience isn't discerning, and formula sells. No wonder innovation dies: it's the fault of sheep gamers. Makes you appreciate the very few devs out there trying to do something that avoids cliches--GSC Gameworld with Stalker, for instance, or Molyneux's gang on Fable.
