Players have fellow squad members to help them out, but they're just regular guys, needing support and covering fire. Or, should things go really badly, emergency medical aid. Men of Valor walks the line between pure gameplay and the more simulation-like aspects of combat. For instance, while players can stop and bandage up, it takes valuable time. They also need to find a safe place to do it -- not easy with bullets whining by and VC booby-traps in the surrounding tall grass. Let skilled squad members check things out in advance, or there may be a tripwire or pongee stick with your name on it.
