Wargaming.net has released the first 42 screenshots of its upcoming turn-based strategy game Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance. These screens demonstrate the significant improvements of the 3D engine, unit and terrain graphics. Presented are 4 planets with new terrain types: rivers, bridges, swamps, volcanoes plus new cities and plants. New unit types are shown: Free Nation Union's attack helicopters, pillboxes, highly demanded anti-aircraft vehicles and submarines. Phantom League's new weapons include deadly Bullfrogs (huge mechs capable of firing two types of guns at two different targets during the same turn), Leviathans (mighty naval monsters with similar two-target capability). The screens also show super-powerful Green Devil" in action - the League's secret weapon of mass destruction, fired from the orbital satellites. More new units for both sides will be revealed soon. All these additions will bring extra depth to the gameplay and will enlarge the player's tactical options with more combat techniques and strategic schemes to explore. The developers expect to have beta version available by August 2004 and worldwide release following in few months.

Phantom Renaissance is the stand-alone expansion set for the highly acclaimed turn-based strategy game Massive Assault. Massive Assault: Phantom Renaissance features a renewed global conflict between the Free Nations Union and Phantom League in distant space colonies. The game is based on the Massive Assault's original "Secret Allies" concept, acknowledged by the press and the players as innovative and "easy to learn and hard to master" one and in many respects rejuvenating turn-based genre.

Other Phantom Renaissance features include:
* 6 new planets for World Wars including massive-sized deathmatch maps
* 2 Mega Campaigns
* 20 new single-player scenarios with new mission types and twists
* All-new "Assault" game mode
* All-new RTS-style" online play mode
* New A.I. - with various computer opponent ‘profiles'
* 10 new units, unique for each side, leading to different strategies
* Enhanced 3D engine: remade unit, terrain and effect visualization technology
* Additional battle music
* Massive Assault Network compatibility
* 2 new viewing modes: CNN-style "fancy camera" and historic-atlas-style 2D strategic map mode
* LAN play
* Many single-player and multiplayer gameplay enhancements
