Well, that's all fine and dandy and so three cheers for Microsoft and Windows Vista then? Well, pretty much, although speaking further on Vista, Rein revealed he has a few issues with it - in particular that, in his view, MS has missed an opportunity to move the market forward into the 64-bit era by releasing a 32-bit version of Vista. "I'm bitterly disappointed that they're shipping a 32-bit version of Vista - I think that's very short-sighted, I really don't see the point of it," Rein told us. "I think they [Microsoft] kind of capitulated to Intel... I think Intel put the squeeze on Microsoft and said 'We're still going to do some 32-bit chips, you've got to do a 32-bit version'."
Speaking to C&VG recently, Rein said: "People ask me 'will there be another nVidia $1,000,000 Make Something Unreal contest?' Sure, we'll round up some sponsors again and hopefully have another big, huge mod contest." The Unreal honcho continued, saying that with Unreal Engine 3 as the platform, his expectations are even higher for the contest: "This time I think it's going to be spectacular," he said. "You see so many companies have licensed the technology, mainly because of how great the tools are and how productive and creative they can be with these tools, and it's going to be that much more-so for the mod guys."
