The 12th April 2004 marks the launch of musical genius Mike Oldfield's unique innovative and creatively inspiring online game - Maestro. Here is a bit about the game:

"Players are able to view other visitors on screen by taking possession of Avatars, which allows group exploration and the chance to travel throughout Maestro with friends. Avatars are represented as a variety of flying objects, including flying-carpets and broomsticks, this facility alongside the instant messaging board, highlights the social benefits of the compelling Maestro world. Fans of Mike Oldfield will be thrilled to know that they will be able to interact online directly with Mike, as he intends to enter the world of Maestro on a regular basis. These visits will be announced be on www.mikeoldfield.com in advance of the date and time."

I played a demo from Mike Oldfield about 2 years ago, it was pretty whacky! He ploughed about £5million of his own money into it and needs a reality check if he thinks this will work. Mike your music is briliant but please drop this 'waste of time and money' idea, it is DEAD

Maestro s fantastic! You may need some time to find out all that it's about and many negative comment come from those who have dipped a foot in and found it too hot or too cold then pulled out. To me the best feature of the game is the online interactivity in amazing 3d worlds (which you don't get in the deom unfortunately). Mike is not making any profit for this game and has ploughed much of his own money into this wonderful project. Give it more than a whiff and you may gind yourself eating up the whole thing with delight :-)
