LucasArts lay-off staff

Ferrago.com is reporting
that the developer LucasArts has laid-off 29 of its employees, bringing the total count at the gaming heavyweight to about 389. The cuts were made, according to a spokesman, in order "to bring studio staffing levels into line with the current development slate...". The move comes after several games were cancelled, including
Sam & Max 2
and
Full Throttle 2
. Presumably the laid off staff were working on the canned titles and couldn't be relocated within LucasArts.

LucasArts has been making some bad decisions lately. Guess now we'll get a slew of more Star Wars games instead, as if the market weren't already completely saturated with that particular tired franchise. Cowards.

I'm still cut about them cancelling Sam&Max2. LucasArts suck as much as my video card does

Well, they lost my faith in them when they made SW: Galaxies pay to play...no game is worth that.

What an irony. Here's a company that's filled with talent (or was, anyway). And everyone's forced to stifle their creativity because the company exists to rehash the same old used-up Star Wars franchise, over and over. Lucas is the McDonalds of entertainment.

I heard on a prog that there are something in the region of 65+ *DIFFERENT* Star Wars tiles that have been made on all formats.
