IGNcube has learned that Retro Studios' forthcoming GameCube take on the Metroid franchise is not a third-person action-shooter as expected, but rather a first-person shooter in the style of Half-Life. Indeed, players will see through the eyes of series' heroine Samus. Though it's hard to imagine the beloved franchise transformed so drastically, it should be noted that Retro Studios has swooped up all sorts of talent perfectly fitted to tackle such a daunting task – namely designers and programmers who worked on Quake and Half-Life previously.
