French developer Cyanide (Chaos League: Sudden Death makers) has released three new screenshots from Loki, their upcoming hack 'n' slash/action role-playing game set in a universe inspired by mythology and ancient races such as the Greeks, Vikings, Aztecs and Egyptians. There are also four new videos (about 15 seconds each) showing some of the fire spells of the Egyptian mage character (fire wall, fire orb, meteor, fire breath and a fire charge), and if you can read french you can take a look at the mage's fire skill tree (Egyptian god Ra) with descriptions of each skill (they also have one of the skill trees for the Greek rogue/assassin/hunter character showing various fire/poison trap skills available). The skills look very much inspired by Diablo 1/2 with fireball, firewave, firewall, meteor being among the various options available to the fire mage. The screenshots and videos look quite promising and the fact that Cyanide is providing closed servers is certainly exciting. I really hope they release a demo. The game is now scheduled for release in Q2/2007.
